Abstract
A bioreactor system includes a bioreactor container having a first compartment, a second compartment, a first membrane separating the first compartment from the second compartment, a third compartment, and a second membrane separating the third compartment from the first compartment or the second compartment and the system further includes a tissue scaffold integrated with the bioreactor container in the second compartment to form a single bioreactor unit. One or more fluids can be added to one or more of the compartments.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A bioreactor system comprising:
a bioreactor container comprising a first compartment, a second compartment, a first membrane separating the first compartment from the second compartment, a third compartment, and a second membrane separating the third compartment from the first compartment or the second compartment; and a tissue scaffold integrated with the bioreactor container in the second compartment to form a single bioreactor unit.
2 . The bioreactor system of claim 1 wherein the tissue scaffold includes a textile.
3 . The bioreactor system of claim 2 wherein the tissue scaffold includes a woven textile.
4 . The bioreactor system of claim 1 further comprising a buffer solution in the first compartment of the bioreactor container.
5 . The bioreactor system of claim 4 wherein the buffer solution comprises a pharmaceutical ingredient.
6 . The bioreactor system of claim 4 wherein the buffer solution exhibits a pH of between 4 and 10.
7 . The bioreactor system of claim 1 further comprising a bio-fluid in the third compartment of the bioreactor container.
8 . The bioreactor system of claim 7 wherein the bio-fluid comprises cells, growth-factors, or combinations thereof.
9 . The bioreactor system of claim 1 wherein a wall of the bioreactor includes polyethylene.
10 . The bioreactor system of claim 9 wherein at least one of the first membrane or the second membrane includes polyethylene.
11 . The bioreactor system of claim 1 wherein at least one of the first membrane or the second membrane includes polyethylene.
12 . The bioreactor system of claim 1 wherein a wall of the bioreactor and at least one membrane include the same material.
13 . The bioreactor of claim 1 further comprising a valve configured to communicatively connect the first compartment to the second compartment.
14 . The bioreactor of claim 1 further comprising a valve configured to communicatively connect the third compartment to the first compartment or the second compartment.
15 . The bioreactor system of claim 1 wherein at least one of the first membrane or the second membrane includes a hydrogel.
16 . The bioreactor system of claim 1 further comprising a buffer solution in the first compartment of the bioreactor container and a bio-fluid in the third compartment of the bioreactor.
17 . The bioreactor system of claim 1 further comprising a buffer solution in the first compartment of the bioreactor container wherein the buffer solution comprises a pharmaceutical ingredient; and a bio-fluid in the third compartment of the bioreactor wherein the bio-fluid comprises cells, growth-factors, or combinations thereof.
18 . The bioreactor system of claim 17 wherein the buffer solution includes a predetermined cell composition and the bio-fluid includes a predetermined pharmaceutical composition, wherein the cell composition and pharmaceutical composition are personalized for an individual patient in response to a determination by a physician.Cited by (0)
