Abstract

Particular embodiments described herein provide for a wearable electronic device, such as a bracelet, watch, wristband or armband. One particular example implementation of a wearable electronic device may include a first display screen, a second display screen, and logic. At least a portion of the logic is implemented in hardware. The logic is configured to receive a communication over a wireless network, and to display, in the first display screen, a communication alert. The communication alert can be a graphic design. The logic is also configured to receive input data indicative of a screen transition input to view information associated with the communication, and to display, in the second display screen, the information associated with the communication. In further embodiments, the graphic design includes a notification pattern indicating one or more attributes of the communication. In further embodiments, the first and second display screens form a single display screen.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 25 . (canceled)

         26 . A mobile electronic device comprising:
 non-volatile memory comprising instructions; a display; and a processor, when executing the instructions, configured to:
 assign a level of importance among a plurality of levels of importance based, at least in part, upon input from a user, the plurality of levels of importance being for a plurality of communication types;
 provide a notification based, at least in part, on the assigned level of importance;
 receive, from a touch sensor of the display, input data indicative of a particular touch; and
 provide direct access to a communication associated with the notification.

         27 . The mobile electronic device of claim 26 , wherein the processor is further configured to receive the communication over a network.

         28 . The mobile electronic device of claim 27 , wherein the network is wireless.

         29 . The mobile electronic device of claim 26 , wherein the particular touch is a single finger touch.

         30 . The mobile electronic device of claim 26 , wherein providing direct access to the communication allows a user to input data.

         31 . The mobile electronic device of claim 30 , wherein providing direct access to the communication allows a user to access to input data without having to context-switch.

         32 . The mobile electronic device of claim 31 , wherein the processor is further configured to display content on the display in response to receiving the input data.

         33 . The mobile electronic device of claim 26 , wherein the plurality of levels of importance represent varying degrees of importance.

         34 . The mobile electronic device of claim 33 , wherein the assigned level of importance is configured at the mobile electronic device prior to the communication being received at the mobile electronic device.

         35 . The mobile electronic device of claim 34 , wherein the plurality of levels of importance includes at least a high level of importance and a low level of importance.

         36 . The mobile electronic device of claim 26 , wherein the processor is further configured to display the notification on the display of the mobile electronic device.

         37 . The mobile electronic device of claim 36 , wherein the assigned level of importance is indicated visually when the notification is displayed in the display.

         38 . The mobile electronic device of claim 37 , wherein the notification is more noticeable visually when displayed in the display than a second notification provided based, at least in part, on a second level of importance associated with a second communication from the network, wherein the second level of importance is lower than the assigned level of importance.

         39 . The mobile electronic device of claim 38 , wherein the second level of importance is user-configurable at the mobile electronic device prior to the second communication being received at the mobile electronic device.

         40 . The mobile electronic device of claim 26 , wherein the notification indicates a type of communication.

         41 . A method for interacting with a mobile electronic device, the method comprising:
 assigning a level of importance among a plurality of levels of importance based, at least in part, upon input from a user, the plurality of levels of importance being for a plurality of communication types; providing a notification based, at least in part, on the assigned level of importance; receiving, from a touch sensor of the mobile electronic device, input data indicative of a particular touch; and providing direct access to a communication associated with the notification.

         42 . The method of claim 41 further comprising receiving the communication over a network.

         43 . The method of claim 42 , wherein the network is wireless.

         44 . The method of claim 41 , wherein the particular touch is a single finger touch.

         45 . The method of claim 44 , wherein providing direct access to the communication allows a user to input data.
