Abstract
Esters of general formula R 1 —COOR 2 , where R 1 =9 to 23 C alkyl and R 2 =methyl, ethyl, n-propyl or i-propyl are suitable as coalescing agents, in particular for the production of all types of coating from an aqueous polymer or latex dispersion.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . The use of esters of the general formula (I),
R 1 —COOR 2 (I)
in which R 1 is an alkyl radical having 9 to 23 C atoms and R 2 is a saturated alkyl radical selected from the group of methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, and isopropyl, as coalescents.
2 . The use as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the radical R 1 is a saturated alkyl radical.
3 . The use as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the radical R 1 is an alkyl radical which comprises a C═C double bond.
4 . The use as claimed in any of claims 1 to 3 in the production of coatings of any kind based on aqueous polymer dispersions or latex dispersions.
5 . The use as claimed in claim 4 in the production of coatings based on aqueous emulsion paints.
6 . The use of compositions comprising
(1) one or more of the esters (I) of claim 1 and (2) one or more further compounds—different from the esters (I)—selected from the group of esters, ethers, and hydroxyesters as coalescents.
7 . The use as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the radical R 1 of the esters (I) is a saturated alkyl radical.
8 . The use as claimed in claim 6 , wherein the radical R 1 of the esters (I) is an alkyl radical which comprises a C═C double bond.
9 . The use as claimed in any of claims 6 to 8 in the production of coatings of any kind based on aqueous polymer dispersions or latex dispersions.
10 . The use as claimed in claim 9 in the production of coatings based on aqueous emulsion paints.
11 . The use as claimed in any of claims 1 to 10 , wherein the radical R 2 in formula (I) has the definition methyl.
12 . The use as claimed in any of claims 1 to 10 , wherein the radical R 2 in formula (I) has the definition isopropyl.Cited by (0)
