Therapeutic compounds and methods of use thereof

Abstract

The invention provides compounds that are useful for treating or preventing cancer.

1 . A compound of formula (I): 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       wherein:
 R 7  is H; and R 1  and R 2  taken together with the atoms to which they are attached form a 5-membered or 6-membered, saturated, partially unsaturated, or aromatic ring that comprises at least two carbon atoms and optionally comprises one or two heteroatoms selected from N, S, and O, which ring is optionally substituted with 1, 2, or 3 groups independently selected from halo, hydroxy, cyano, trifluoromethyl, trifluoromethoxy, (C 1 -C 3 )alkyl, and (C 1 -C 3 )alkoxy; 
 X is CR a  or N; 
 A is absent, —CH 2 —, —CH 2 CH 2 —, —CR b ═CH—, or —CH═CH—CH═CH—; 
 R 3  is H, or (C 1 -C 6 )alkyl; 
 Y is O; 
 R 4  is H, halo, (C 1 -C 6 )alkyl, or (C 1 -C 6 )alkoxy; 
 R 5  is H, halo, hydroxy, (C 1 -C 6 )alkyl, or (C 1 -C 6 )alkoxy that is optionally substituted with phenyl; 
 R 6  is H, halo, (C 1 -C 6 )alkyl, or (C 1 -C 6 )alkoxy; 
 R a  is H, (C 1 -C 6 )alkyl, or (C 1 -C 6 )alkoxy; and 
 R b  is H or phenyl that is optionally substituted with 1, 2, or 3 groups independently selected from halo, hydroxy, cyano, trifluoromethyl, trifluoromethoxy, (C 1 -C 3 )alkyl, and (C 1 -C 3 )alkoxy; 
 or a salt thereof;
