Abstract

where Core is an aromatic polycyclic conjugated molecule, R1 is an insulating group, n is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8, R2 is substitute located in apex positions, R3 and R4 are located in side (lateral) positions and, the core has flat anisometric form and R2 are selected from hydrogen and nucleophilic groups (donors) and R3 and R4 are independently selected from hydrogen and electrophilic groups (acceptors) or vice versa R3 and R4 are independently selected from hydrogen and nucleophilic groups (donors) and R2 are selected from hydrogen and electrophilic groups (acceptors).

1 . An organic compound characterized by electronic polarizability and having a following general structural formula: 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         where Core is a rylene fragment selected from: 
       
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         wherein n is an integer ranging from 0-3, 
         each instance of R 1  is independently selected from the group consisting of hetero-alkyl C 1 -C 18 , hetero-alkenyl hetero-alkynyl C 1 -C 18 , hetero-aryl C 1 -C 18 , unsubstituted C 1 -C 18  alkyl, substituted C 1 -C 18  alkyl, unsubstituted C 2 -C 18  alkenyl, substituted C 2 -C 18  alkenyl, unsubstituted C 2 -C 18  alkynyl, substituted C 2 -C 18  alkynyl, unsubstituted C 4 -C 18  aryl, substituted C 4 -C 18  aryl, fluorinated alkyl, chlorinated alkyl, complex alkyl, branched alkyl, complex fluorinated alkyl, branched fluorinated alkyl, complex chlorinated alkyl, branched chlorinated alkyl, and any combination thereof; and wherein hetero atoms are selected from N, O, S, Si, and P;

An organic compound according to  claim 1 , wherein the electrophilic groups (acceptors) are selected from —NO 2 , —NH 3   +  and —NR 3   +  nd —NRR′R″ +  (with counterion —Cl −  or —Br − ), —CHO, —CRO, —SO 3 H, —SO 3 R, —SO 2 NH 2 , —SO 2 NRR′, —COOH, —COOR, —COCl, —CONH 2 , —CONRR′, —CF 3 , —CCl 3 , —CN, wherein R and R′ and R″ are radicals independently selected from the list comprising alkyl, allyl, benzyl groups, phenyl and other aryl groups. 
     
     
         11 . An organic compound according to  claim 1  comprising at least one nucleophilic group (donor).

An organic compound according to  claims 1 , wherein the nucleophilic groups (donors) are selected from —O − , —NH 2 , —NHR, —NR 2 , —OH, —Or, —NHCOR, —OCOR, alkyl, —C 6 H 5 , vinyls, wherein R is radical selected from the list comprising alkyl , allyl benzyl groups, phenyl and other aryl groups. 
     
     
         13 . A dielectric layer comprising the organic compound according to  claim 1 . 
     
     
         14 . The dielectric layer according to  claim 13 , wherein the dielectric layer is crystalline. 
     
     
         15 . A capacitor comprising a first electrode, a second electrode, and a dielectric layer according to  claim 13  is disposed between said first and second electrodes, wherein said electrodes are more or less flat and planar and positioned more or less parallel to each other.
