Abstract
A wearable article includes front and back elastic belts, a crotch region, a waist opening, and leg openings. Each elastic belt is a laminate having an inner sheet, an outer sheet, and a an elastic member running in the transverse direction. Elastic bonding continuously bonds the elastic member for at least about 10 mm in the direction of stretch in a region adjacent side edges of the elastic belts, and vertical bonding applied to the inner and/or the outer sheet intermittently bonds the elastic member to said inner and/or outer sheets. At least one of the inner sheet and the outer sheet comprises a plurality of deformations aligned in the longitudinal direction. The article has a Stretch Circumference Force of about 6.5 N or less and a Fit Circumference Force of at least about 3.0 N. The ratio of Stretch Circumference Force/Fit Circumference Force is less than about 1.8.

A wearable article continuous in a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction comprising a front elastic belt, a back elastic belt, a crotch region, a waist opening, and a pair of leg openings; the crotch region extending longitudinally between the front elastic belt and the back elastic belt;
wherein each of the front and back elastic belt is a laminate comprising an inner sheet, an outer sheet, and an elastic member running in the transverse direction, wherein the laminate further comprising an elastic bonding which continuously bonds the elastic member for at least about 10 mm in the direction of stretch in a region adjacent side edges of the front and back elastic belts, and a vertical bonding applied to at least one of the inner sheet and the outer sheet with intervals in the transverse direction to intermittently bond the elastic member to at least one of the inner sheet and the outer sheet, wherein at least one of the inner sheet and the outer sheet comprises a plurality of deformations wherein the deformations are aligned in the longitudinal direction, wherein the article has a Stretch Circumference Force of no more than about 6.5 N, and a Fit Circumference Force of at least about 3.0 N wherein the ratio of the value of Stretch Circumference Force/Fit Circumference Force is less than about 1.8.
2 . The article of claim 1 wherein the Stretch Circumference Force is no more than about 6.0 N.

The article of claim 1 wherein the vertical bonding is spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction forming a longitudinal repeating pattern of discrete vertical bondings, wherein each elastic member is attached to the inner sheet or the outer sheet by at least one discrete vertical bonding.

The article of claim 3 wherein the elastic members are spaced apart with each other with a pitch of from about 6 mm to about 18 mm in the longitudinal direction, and wherein the discrete vertical bondings have a transverse dimension VG 2 spaced apart from each other with a transverse pitch VG 1 , and a longitudinal spacing VG 3 , wherein VG 1 is from about 2 mm to about 15 mm, and VG 2 is from about 0.2 mm to about 7 mm, and VG 3 is no greater than about 3 mm.
5 . The article of claim 1 having a Belt Elastic Bonding Percentage of less than about 25%.
6 . The article of claim 5 having an Individual Elastic Bonding Percentage of less than about 50%.
7 . The article of claim 1 wherein elastic member comprises an elastic strand having a density of no more than about 500 dtex.
8 . The article of claim 7 wherein the article comprises a plurality of elastic members running in the transverse direction and at least 50% of elastic members on each of the front belt and the back belt are elastic strands having a density of no more than about 500 dtex.
9 . A wearable article continuous in a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction comprising a front elastic belt, a back elastic belt, a crotch region, a waist opening, and a pair of leg openings; the crotch region extending longitudinally between the front elastic belt and the back elastic belt;
wherein at least 10%, preferably at least 15% and not more than 70%, of the longitudinal dimension of the front and back elastic belts from the waist opening is a laminate in active elasticity defining an Upper Gather Region, the laminate comprising an inner sheet, an outer sheet, and a plurality of elastic members continuously running in the transverse direction, wherein the Upper Gather Region has a Directional Dispersion Value of no more than about 11 points; wherein the laminate further comprising an elastic bonding which continuously bonds the elastic members for at least about 10 mm in the direction of stretch in a region adjacent the side edges of the front and back elastic belts, and a vertical bonding applied to at least one of the inner sheet and the outer sheet with intervals in the transverse direction to intermittently bond the elastic member to at least one of the inner sheet and the outer sheet, wherein the article has a Stretch Circumference Force of no more than about 6.5 N and a Fit Circumference Force of at least about 3.0 N, wherein the ratio of the value of Stretch Circumference Force/Fit Circumference Force is less than about 1.8.
10 . The article of claim 9 wherein the Stretch Circumference Force is no more than about 6.0 N.
11 . The article of claim 9 wherein the vertical bonding is spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction forming a longitudinal repeating pattern of discrete vertical bondings, wherein each elastic member is attached to the inner sheet or the outer sheet by at least one discrete vertical bonding.
12 . The article of claim 11 wherein the elastic members are spaced apart with each other with a pitch of from about 6 mm to about 18 mm in the longitudinal direction, and wherein the discrete vertical bondings have a transverse dimension VG 2 spaced apart from each other with a transverse pitch VG 1 , and a longitudinal spacing VG 3 , wherein VG 1 is from about 2 mm to about 15 mm, and VG 2 is from about 0.2 mm to about 7 mm, and VG 3 is no greater than about 3 mm.
13 . The article of claim 9 comprising a Belt Elastic Bonding Percentage of less than about 25%.
14 . The article of claim 13 comprising an Individual Elastic Bonding Percentage of less than about 50%, according to the measurements herein.
15 . The article of claim 9 wherein elastic members comprise elastic strands having a density of no more than about 500 dtex.
