Abstract

A universal elastic smoking implement is designed to retain a partially inserted smoke filter on one end and one of a cigarette, a cigar, a smoke pipe, or another smoking device on the other end thereof. A screen is provided in the internal central region of the implement to retain large burning particles as well as to act as a mechanical stop for positioning of such smoke filters or smoking devices inside the smoking implement. Either the mouthpiece end and/of the opposite smoking end of the implement may have two or more internal stages of stepped up sizes so as to reduce the overall length of the implement while accommodating a broader range of insert sizes.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A universal elastic smoking implement comprising a generally tubular body made from an elastically resilient material, said generally tubular body having a first opening at a mouthpiece end and a second opening at a smoking end, said mouthpiece end located on the opposite side of said smoking end of said elastic smoking implement,
 said mouthpiece end is sized and configured to elastically expand and removably accept a cylindrical smoke filter at least partially inserted therein for an airtight press fit attachment, said mouthpiece end comprising an internal first mouthpiece stage of a generally cylindrical or tapered shape, said first mouthpiece stage extending in series to a larger internal second mouthpiece stage with a first tapered step transition inbetween, said second mouthpiece stage having a generally cylindrical or tapered shape terminating at said first opening, whereby said smoke filter fits inside either one of said first mouthpiece stage or said second mouthpiece stage after expanding thereof to an external diameter of said smoke filter,   said smoking end is sized and configured to elastically expand and removably accept a tubular container with burning smoking material at least partially inserted therein for an airtight press-fit attachment, said smoking end comprising an internal first smoking stage of a generally cylindrical or tapered shape extending to said second opening, whereby said tubular container with burning smoking material fits inside said first smoking stage after expanding thereof to an external diameter of said tubular container,   said smoking implement further comprising a screen positioned inside thereof between said mouthpiece end and said smoking end,   whereby said smoking implement is configured to universally accept one of a variety of smoke filters and one of a variety of tubular containers with burning smoking material to removably connect thereof in series with each other and in an airtight manner.   
     
     
         2 . The smoking implement as in  claim 1 , wherein said first smoking stage extending in series to a larger internal second smoking stage with a second tapered step transition inbetween, said second smoking stage having a generally cylindrical or tapered shape extending to said second opening, whereby said tubular container with burning smoking material fits inside either one of said first smoking stage or said second smoking stage after expanding thereof to an external diameter of said tubular container. 
     
     
         3 . The smoking implement as in  claim 2 , wherein said second smoking stage extending in series to a larger yet internal third smoking stage with a third tapered step transition inbetween, said third smoking stage having a generally cylindrical or tapered shape extending to said second opening, whereby said tubular container with burning smoking material fits inside either one of said first smoking stage, said second smoking stage, or said third smoking stage after expanding thereof to an external diameter of said tubular container. 
     
     
         4 . The smoking implement as in  claim 1  further comprising a malleable insert embedded at said mouthpiece end thereof, whereby deforming said malleable insert allows to change the shape of said mouthpiece end of the smoking implement. 
     
     
         5 . The smoking implement as in  claim 1 , wherein said first mouthpiece stage and said second mouthpiece stage have a combined length that is less than a length of said smoke filter, whereby allowing only a partial insertion of said smoke filter into said smoking implement. 
     
     
         6 . The smoking implement as in  claim 1  further comprising an internal attachment region located between said screen and said first internal smoking stage, said attachment region having an internal size exceeding that of said first internal smoking stage, whereby permitting said smoking implement to resiliently slide over and securely attach to a smoking device having an external shape corresponding to the internal shape of said attachment region and said smoking end.
