Abstract

A method of producing a protein phospholipid complex from a crustacean catch including protein is claimed where hydrolysis occurs without substantially denaturing the protein from the crustacean catch. A method of producing a stable protein phospholipid emulsion from a crustacean catch is also claimed. A method of producing crustacean oil is claimed where the oil is separated from the hydrolyzed crustacean catch. Other methods of producing a protein phospholipid complex are claimed which relate to not removing the shell, removing the shell, and removing then adding back the shell to form the protein phospholipid complex.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
We claim:

1 . A nutritional supplement comprising a crustacean oil and another oil, wherein said another oil is selected from the group consisting of a flaxseed oil, a pumpkinseed oil, a canola oil, a soybean oil, a walnut oil, a fish oil, a seal oil, a microalgae oil, a mussel oil, a shrimp oil, and any combination thereof.

2 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said mussel oil is a green-lipped mussel oil.

3 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said crustacean oil is krill oil.

4 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said nutritional supplement is contained within a capsule.

5 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said crustacean oil comprises phospholipids that are essentially free of protein and less than approximately 0.5 ppm fluoride.

6 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said nutritional supplement is a human food supplement.

7 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said nutritional supplement is an animal feed supplement.

8 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said nutritional supplement is a pet feed supplement.

9 . The nutritional supplement of claim 8 , wherein said pet feed supplement is a dog feed supplement.

10 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said crustacean oil comprises phospholipids.

11 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said crustacean oil comprises lipids which consists mainly of phospholipids.

12 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said crustacean oil contains about 400-500 g/Kg phospholipids.

13 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said crustacean oil comprises Omega-3 fatty acids.

14 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said crustacean oil contains 200-260 g/Kg Omega-3 fatty acids.

15 . The nutritional supplement of claim 1 , wherein said crustacean oil is contained together with partially hydrolyzed proteins in a protein phospholipid complex.
