Abstract
An artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device may include an inflatable bag having an opening at an end of the bag. The bag device may also include an indicator including at least one repeating pattern on a wall of the bag. The pattern may extend across at least one side of the bag.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device, comprising:
an inflatable bag having an opening at an end of the bag; and an indicator including at least one repeating pattern on a wall of the bag, the pattern extending across at least one side of the bag.
2 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 1 , wherein the pattern is on a plurality of sides of the bag.
3 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 1 , wherein the pattern is on a posterior side of the bag configured to contact abdominal viscera.
4 . (canceled)
5 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 1 , wherein the pattern extends from a first edge of the bag to a second edge of the bag, the second edge being opposite the first edge.
6 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 5 , wherein the pattern extends continuously between the first and second edges of the bag.
7 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 1 , wherein the pattern includes a line extending along an edge of the bag.
8 . (canceled)
9 . (canceled)
10 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 1 , wherein the pattern includes a plurality of lines.
11 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 10 , wherein a line closest to the opening is thicker than the other lines.
12 - 29 . (canceled)
30 . An artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device, comprising:
at least one patterned membrane forming at least a portion of an inflatable bag that has an opening at an end of the bag, the at least one patterned membrane including:
a neck portion having a width defined between opposing lateral edges of the neck portion,
an enlarged body portion having a width defined between opposing lateral edges of the body portion, the width of the body portion being greater than the width of the neck portion, and
a shoulder portion connecting the neck portion with the enlarged body portion.
31 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 30 , wherein the at least one patterned membrane includes a repeating pattern.
32 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 31 , wherein the pattern is on the body portion.
33 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 31 , wherein the pattern is on the shoulder portion.
34 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 31 , wherein the pattern is on the neck portion.
35 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 31 , wherein the pattern is on an anterior surface of the bag configured to contact an abdominal wall.
36 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 31 , wherein the pattern is on a posterior surface of the bag configured to contact abdominal viscera.
37 . The artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device of claim 31 , wherein the pattern is on a plurality of sides of the bag.
38 . A method for performing a surgical procedure, comprising:
inserting an artificial pneumoperitoneum bag device through a patient opening and into a peritoneal cavity, wherein the bag device includes:
an inflatable bag with an opening at an end of the bag, and
at least one repeating pattern on the bag, the at least one pattern extending across at least one side of the bag;
inflating the bag to cause the bag to conform to a shape of the peritoneal cavity; and visually observing the pattern after inflating the bag.
39 . The method of claim 38 , wherein visually observing the pattern includes identifying any discontinuities in the pattern caused by creasing, pleating, or folding of the bag.
40 . The method of claim 38 , wherein visually observing the pattern includes comparing tissue to the pattern to determine one or more dimensions of the tissue.
41 . The method of claim 38 , wherein visually observing the pattern includes visually observing the pattern from within the inflated bag.
