Abstract

The invention relates to a dosing regimen for sedation with the fast-acting benzodiazepine CNS 7056 in combination with an opioid, in particular fentanyl, whereas CNS 7056 is given in Ft dose of 2 to 20 mg, preferably between 4 and 9 mg and most preferably between 5 and 8 mg.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A container for use in dosing a pharmaceutical composition comprising an amount of from 1 mg to 10 mg of 3-[(4S)-8-bromo-1-methyl-6-(2-pyridinyl)-4H-imidazol[1,2-a][1,4]benzodiazepine-4-yl]-propionic methyl ester of formula (I) 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. 
       
     
     
         2 . A ready-to-use drug product comprising: a container, said container holding a one-time use of 3-[(4S)-8-bromo-1-methyl-6-(2-pyridinyl)-4H-imidazol[1,2-a][1,4]benzodiazepine-4-yl]-propionic methyl ester of formula (I) 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, for administering for the sedation of a subject. 
       
     
     
         3 . The container of  claim 1 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable salt is a besylate salt. 
     
     
         4 . The ready-to-use drug product of  claim 2 , wherein the pharmaceutically acceptable salt is a besylate salt.
