Film laminator for cell phones

Abstract

According to the utility model, there is provided a film laminator for cell phones, useful for film lamination on a surface of a cell phone, including: a cell phone fixing plate, on which a through hole for receiving the cell phone is established, and a top surface of which is a horizontal face; with at least one position limiting plate for abutting the cell phone within the through hole being also fixed on the top surface. The film laminator for cell phones further includes: a film laminating plate for fixing a cell phone film; one end of which is hinged to the cell phone fixing plate, and the other end of which is movable freely so that the film laminating plate is bonded with the top surface of the cell phone fixing plate. With respect to the film laminator for cell phones according to the utility model, because the position limiting plate is provided on the cell phone fixing plate, the surface of the cell phone to which a film is to be attached can handily be kept in flush with the top surface of the cell phone fixing plate. Upon film lamination, the film laminating plate can contact with the top surface of the cell phone fixing plate and the surface of the cell phone to which a film is to be attached at the same time, so that the stress that is laid on it in the course of film lamination is very even, and a good effect of film lamination is obtained.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An apparatus for applying protective film to a personal device having a defined shape and a defined thickness, comprising;
 a fixing plate comprising a horizontal surface having a though hole, wherein the through hole has an edge conforming to the defined shape, wherein a thickness of the fixing plate at the edge of the through hole is equal to the defined thickness of the personal device;   a protective film assembly comprising:
 a first outer film, and 
 a primary film comprising at least one adhesive film layer on its lower surface, wherein the adhesive film layer is disposed between the first outer film and primary film, and wherein the first covering layer is adapted to be removed from the primary film; and 
   a hinge having a top edge and a bottom edge, wherein the top edge is affixed to an upper edge of the horizontal surface, and the bottom edge is affixed to the protective film assembly.   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the primary film comprises tempered glass. 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the protective film assembly further comprises a second outer film wherein the primary protective layer is disposed between the first outer film and the second outer film, and wherein the second outer film is adapted to be removed from the primary film. 
     
     
         4 . The apparatus of  claim 3 , further comprising a film laminating plate removably adhered to the second outer film. 
     
     
         5 . The apparatus of  claim 4 , wherein the film laminating plate has a groove and an exhaust through hole disposed at the bottom of groove. 
     
     
         6 . The apparatus of  claim 4 , wherein the film laminating plate comprises transparent material. 
     
     
         7 . An apparatus for applying a protective film to a personal device having a defined shape and a defined thickness, comprising:
 a fixing plate comprising a horizontal surface having a through hole with an edge corresponding to the defined shape, wherein a sidewall depending from the edge has a height equal to the defined thickness of the personal device;   a protective film assembly, comprising:
 a first outer film, 
 a primary film, 
 a second outer film comprising an upper portion hingedly connected to a lower portion, wherein the upper portion is affixed to the horizontal surface, and wherein the lower portion corresponds with the shape of, and is removably adhered to, the primary film. 
   
     
     
         8 . The apparatus of  claim 7 , wherein the primary film comprises tempered glass. 
     
     
         9 . The apparatus of  claim 7 , further comprising a film laminating plate, wherein the second outer film is removably adhered to the film laminating plate. 
     
     
         10 . The apparatus of  claim 9 , where in the film laminating plate further comprises a groove and an exhaust through hole disposed at the bottom of the groove. 
     
     
         11 . The apparatus of  claim 7 , further comprising one or more position limiting plates, wherein the sidewall has an upper end abutting the edge of the through hole, and a lower end opposite the upper end, wherein the one or more position limiting plates are affixed to the sidewall's lower end. 
     
     
         12 . A method of producing an apparatus for applying protective film to a personal device having a defined shape, a defined thickness, and a screen to which protective film is to be applied, comprising the steps of:
 forming a fixing plate comprising a horizontal surface, the horizontal surface having a through hole having an edge corresponding to the defined shape;   forming a film laminating plate comprising a first outer film, and a primary film by applying a first adhesive layer between the first outer film and the primary film; and   hingedly attaching the film laminating plate to the horizontal surface of the fixing plate.   
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein the edge of the horizontal surface has a thickness equal to the defined thickness. 
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 12 , further comprising positioning means for ensuring that the horizontal surface is coplanar with the screen. 
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 13 , wherein the positioning means comprises a sidewall. 
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein the positioning means comprises a position limiting plate. 
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein the film laminating plate further comprises a second outer film that is removably adhered to the primary film. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein the film laminating plate further comprises a groove having an exhaust hole.
