Abstract

The present invention relates to methods for treating psoriasis and other indications by inhibiting leptin activity.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method for treating psoriasis, comprising: 
     
     
         1 . A method for treating psoriasis, comprising:
 administering to a human patient having psoriasis, a therapeutically effective amount of a protein that binds to and antagonizes a leptin receptor,   wherein the protein is selected from the group consisting of an antibody and an antibody fragment.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the protein is an antibody or antibody fragment that binds to and antagonizes the leptin receptor. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the protein is a monoclonal antibody or a fragment of a monoclonal antibody.
