Abstract
A multi-tired, modular, electronic system which utilizes restricted usage management. In a multi-tiered environment, lower tiered systems contain, based on configuration, mobile units that are capable of performing simple tasks such as lawnmowers, vacuum cleaners, mobile audio/video players to more complex ones capable of performing as human assistants such as robots. Higher tiered systems typically reside in the cloud. Lower tiered mobile units contain modular sensors such as temperature sensor and image/video cameras that generate vast amount of data. The lower tiered mobile units also contain modular emitters that consume vast amount of data. Restrictions for the usage of these mobile units are sent, in the form of metadata, to the lower tiered mobile units, from an intermediate to higher tiered control devices and the rendering app may limit the usage. The intermediate tiered renderer can interact to make sure rules have been followed.

1 . A tier based electronic system comprising:
a higher tiered cloud system; intermediate tiered systems; a lower tiered user device; the lower tiered user device generates data; the intermediate tiered systems receive, process and consume the data; the intermediate tiered systems pass through the data to the higher tiered cloud system; and the higher tiered cloud system receives, processes and consumes the data.
2 . The tier based electronic system of claim 1 , wherein the lower tiered user device is a modular device.

9 . The tier based electronic system of claim 1 , wherein the data generated by the lower tiered user device come together as a composition at intermediate tiered systems.
10 . An user device that generates data upon request, the user device comprising:
at least one sensor module; an emitter module; a restricted usage management module; the restricted usage management module restricts the usage of the sensor module; and the restricted usage management module restricts the usage of the emitter module.
11 . The user device of claim 10 , wherein the restricted usage management further comprising an encryption module.
12 . The user device of claim 10 , wherein the sensor module further comprising a video camera.
13 . The user device of claim 12 , wherein the video camera is restricted to function within a boundary.
14 . The user device of claim 10 , wherein the restricts the usage of the sensor module comprising locking the data generated.
15 . The user device of claim 10 , wherein the restricted usage management further comprising a permissions module.
16 . The user device of claim 15 , wherein the permissions module limits the usage of the user device.
17 . The user device of claim 10 , wherein the user device is a robot.
18 . A method performed by a multi-tiered electronic system that incorporates usage restriction, the method comprising:
sending request for configuration setting by a higher tiered node; receiving the configuration setting; sending request for sensor data and metadata from a lower tiered node, based on the configuration setting; and receiving the sensor data and metadata from a lower tiered node.
19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the data and metadata come together to form a composition at lower tiered node.
