Abstract

A system enables dispensing, tracking, storage, processing, analysis, management, fulfillment and/or commerce relating to dispensables, such as consumables. The system may include packages that hold consumables and function either independently or in concert with numerous smart configuration devices, such as tabletop machines or mobile machines, as well as remote servers, databases, and other cloud-based resources. A distributed software layer ties all devices and packages together and adds advanced interactivity, communication, analysis, and self-regulation functionality.

         11 . A system comprising:
 a base including a processor, a memory, and containers, the memory storing a schedule for a user associated with the base; and   a network interface configured to couple the base in a communicating relationship with a data network, wherein the processor is configured to
 receive, via communication between the network interface and a cloud account associated with the user, a user-specified configuration of notifications associated with a plurality of communication media, 
 dispense consumable units from the containers according to the schedule, 
 track a distribution of the consumable units from the containers, 
 determine a deviation of the distribution of the consumable units from the schedule, and 
 based on the deviation of the distribution, send escalating alerts to the plurality of communication media via the network interface and according to the user-specified configuration of notifications. 
   
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the user-specified configuration of notifications includes a predetermined order for sending the escalating alerts to the plurality of communication media. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the user-specified configuration of notifications includes a time interval between a scheduled time for a dosage and a first one of the escalating alerts. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the user-specified configuration of notifications includes configuration of a push notification system of one or more of the plurality of communication media in communication with the network interface of the base. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the user-specified configuration of notifications includes one or more predetermined contacts for the user. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the deviation of the distribution of the consumable units from the schedule includes a missed dose. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the escalating alerts to the plurality of communication media include at least one alert to a device locally networked with the network interface of the base. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the escalating alerts to the plurality of communication media include at least one alert to a device in short-range communication with the network interface of the base. 
     
     
         19 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the escalating alerts to the plurality of communication media include at least one alert to a remote resource in communication with the network interface via the data network. 
     
     
         20 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to receive, via the network interface, communication from a remote resource, the communication from the remote resource associating the base with the user. 
     
     
         21 . The system of  claim 11 , wherein the base further includes a user interface, and the escalating alerts to the plurality of communication media include at least one alert to the user interface. 
     
     
         22 . One or more non-transitory storage media having stored thereon instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
 receiving, via communication between a network interface and a cloud account associated with a user, a user-specified configuration of notifications associated with a plurality of communication media;   dispensing consumable units from containers of a base;   tracking a distribution of the consumable units from the containers; and   based on the distribution of the consumable units from the containers, sending escalating alerts to the plurality of communication media via the network interface and according to the user-specified configuration of notifications.   
     
     
         23 . The one or more non-transitory storage media of  claim 22 , wherein the user-specified configuration of notifications includes a predetermined order for sending the escalating alerts to the plurality of communication media. 
     
     
         24 . The one or more non-transitory storage media of  claim 22 , wherein the user-specified configuration of notifications includes a time interval between a scheduled time for a dosage and a first one of the escalating alerts. 
     
     
         25 . The one or more non-transitory storage media of  claim 22 , wherein the user-specified configuration of notifications includes configuration of a push notification system of one or more of the plurality of communication media in communication with the network interface of the base. 
     
     
         26 . The one or more non-transitory storage media of  claim 22 , wherein tracking the distribution of the consumable units from the containers includes determining levels of the consumable units from the containers. 
     
     
         27 . The one or more non-transitory storage media of  claim 26 , wherein the escalating alerts include at least one alert related to a level of the consumable units in at least one of the containers. 
     
     
         28 . The one or more non-transitory storage media of  claim 22 , wherein the escalating alerts to the plurality of communication media include at least one alert to a device locally networked with the network interface of the base. 
     
     
         29 . The one or more non-transitory storage media of  claim 22 , wherein the escalating alerts to the plurality of communication media include at least one alert to a device in short-range communication with the network interface of the base. 
     
     
         30 . The one or more non-transitory storage media of  claim 22 , wherein the escalating alerts to the plurality of communication media include at least one alert to a remote resource in communication with the network interface via a data network.
