Device for calculating flight information of ball, method of calculating flight information of ball, and computing-device-readable recording medium having the method recorded therein

Abstract

Disclosed are a device for calculating flight information of a ball and a method of calculating flight information of a ball that are capable of rapidly calculating the motion parameters of a ball and a golf club using an infrared sensing type device or a camera sensing type device and very rapidly calculating spin information of the ball corresponding to the calculated motion parameters with high accuracy through a simple calculation with reference to database type information about the calculated motion parameters, and a computing-device-readable recording medium having the method recorded therein.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A computer-implemented calculation method for calculating flight information of a golf ball that is hit using a golf club, the calculation method comprising:
 sensing, by a sensor, a golf club motion and a golf ball motion that is hit using the golf club and transmitting the sensed golf club motion and the sensed golf ball motion to a processor;   calculating, by the processor, a motion parameter of the golf club and a motion parameter of the golf ball based on the sensed golf club motion and the sensed golf ball motion; and   calculating, by the processor, a spin information of the golf ball corresponding to the calculated motion parameter of the golf ball using a reference DB for storing values necessary to calculate the spin information of the golf ball as premeasured values of components corresponding to various values of the motion parameter of the golf ball in the form of a database,   wherein the reference DB stores database type information about a value of a dynamic loft, which is a loft of a face of a golf club head at a time of impact corresponding to various values of an attack angle and a launch angle, the value of the dynamic loft being premeasured, and stores database type information about values of a golf ball back spin corresponding to various values of the dynamic loft with respect to various predetermined values of a golf club head speed, the values of the golf ball back spin being premeasured,   wherein the step of calculating the spin information of the golf ball comprises:
 calculating, by the processor, a value of the dynamic loft corresponding to the calculated attack angle and to the calculated launch angle with reference to the reference DB; and 
 calculating, by the processor, a value of the golf ball back spin corresponding to the calculated value of the dynamic loft and the calculated golf club head speed with reference to the reference DB. 
   
     
     
         2 . The calculation method according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 determining, by the processor, a golf ball motion vector based on the calculated launch angle of the golf ball, the calculated direction of the golf ball, and the calculated the golf ball speed, determining a golf club motion vector based on the calculated attack angle, the calculated swing direction, and the calculated the golf club head speed, and calculating information of a spin axis about which the golf ball spin using the determined golf ball motion vector and the determined golf club motion vector according to predetermined conditions; and   calculating, by the processor, a value of a side spin of the golf ball using information about the calculated value of the golf ball back spin and the calculated spin axis according to a predetermined functional relationship.   
     
     
         3 . The calculation method according to  claim 1 , wherein
 the sensor is configured to extract an information of the golf ball from images acquired by a camera and to transmit position information of the extracted information of the golf ball in each frame image to the processor, and the processor is configured to calculate at least one of a launch angle of the golf ball that moves as a result of being hit, a direction of the golf ball, and a golf ball speed as a golf ball motion parameter using the received position information of the golf ball, and   the sensor is configured to extract an information of the golf club from the images acquired by the camera and to transmit position information of the golf club head in each frame image to the processor, and the processor is configured to calculate at least one of an attack angle at a time of hitting the golf ball, a swing direction, and the golf club head speed as a golf club motion parameter of the golf club using the received position information of the golf club head.
