Abstract

The present invention is directed toward a monoclonal antibody to fibroblast growth factor receptor 2, a pharmaceutical composition comprising same, and methods of treatment comprising administering such a pharmaceutical composition to a patient.

A mammalian cell line producing a monoclonal antibody (mAb) that binds human fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 isoform IIIb (FGFR2 IIIb) comprising a light chain variable region comprising CDR1, CDR2, and CDR3 respectively defined by residues 24-34, 50-56, and 89-97 of SEQ ID NO. 1 and comprising a heavy chain variable region comprising CDR1, CDR2, and CDR3 respectively defined by residues 31-35, 50-66 and 99-103 of SEQ ID NO:4. 
     
     
         22 . The cell line of  claim 21  that is a CHO cell line. 
     
     
         23 . The cell line of  claim 21  that is an SP2/0 or NS0 cell line. 
     
     
         24 . The cell line of  claim 21 , wherein the light and heavy chain variable regions are expressed from nucleic acids comprising a CMV promoter-enhancer. 
     
     
         25 . The cell line of  claim 21 , wherein the light chain variable region comprises the sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 and the heavy chain variable region comprises the sequence of SEQ ID NO:4.
