Mobile device videography system
Abstract
An application for videography on a mobile communication device configured to display a first version of an image onto a portion of a graphical user interface of the mobile communication device, wherein a size of the first version of the image corresponds to a size of a viewfinder apparatus on a removable outer case, display a second version of the image on a second portion of the graphical user interface of the mobile communication device outside an area covered by the viewfinder apparatus on the removable outer case; wherein the first version of the image is a miniature mirror image of and displayed in a different orientation than the second version of the image; and initiate a recording in response to a signal received through a connection between the removable outer case and the mobile communication device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium comprising executable instructions configured to cause a processor to execute an application for videography on a mobile communication device, the application configured to:
display a first version of an image received through a lens of the mobile communication device onto a portion of a graphical user interface of the mobile communication device, wherein a size of the first version of the image corresponds to a size of a viewfinder apparatus on a removable outer case for the mobile communication device, display a second version of the image on a second portion of the graphical user interface of the mobile communication device outside an area covered by the viewfinder apparatus on the removable outer case;
wherein the first version of the image is a miniature mirror image of and displayed in a different orientation than the second version of the image, and wherein both the first version of the image and the second version of the image are of the same subject viewed from one direction; and
initiate a recording in response to a signal received through a connection between the removable outer case and the mobile communication device, the signal being sent through the connection in response to a user engaging a physical feature of the removable outer case.
2 . The application of claim 1 , wherein the application is further configured to:
stop the recording in response to a second signal received through the connection, the second signal being sent through the connection in response to a user disengaging the physical feature of the removable outer case.
3 . The downloadable software application of claim 1 , wherein the application is further configured to:
present one or more videography controls on the second portion of the graphical user interface.
4 . The application of claim 3 , wherein the videography controls include one or more of:
an exposure control, a frame rate control, a zoom control, and a white balance control.
5 . The application of claim 1 , wherein the application is further configured to:
save videos recorded by the application, and upload the videos to a remote server.
6 . The application of claim 5 , wherein the application is further configured to upload the videos to the remote server automatically.
7 . The application of claim 1 , wherein the application is configured to turn the display of the second version of the image on and off.
8 . The application of claim 1 , wherein an adjustment of the one or more controls by a user results in a change in the displays of both the first version of the image and the second version of the image.
9 . The application of claim 1 , wherein the application is further configured to:
automatically upload videos captured by the application to a social media platform.
10 . The application of claim 1 , wherein the application is further configured to:
display an information bar comprising information about videography control settings overlaid upon both the first and second versions of the image.
11 . The application of claim 1 , wherein the application is further configured to:
turn off the display of the second version of the image; and display one or more videography controls on the second portion of the graphical user interface.
12 . The application of claim 1 , further comprising one or more separate application screens configured to allow a user to perform each of:
viewing captured videos; uploading captured videos; editing captured videos; and adjusting settings of the application.
13 . The application of claim 1 , wherein the application is further configured to display a synchronization feature indicating that videos are being uploaded.Cited by (0)
