Treatment of sunburn using analgesics and antihistamines

Abstract

Combination compositions and kits comprising an analgesic and an antihistamine are provided as well as methods of use in treating sunburn.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A product for treatment of a sunburn in a subject in need thereof, the product comprising 3 to 40 oral dosage units, wherein each oral dosage unit comprises about 400 mg of ibuprofen, about 4 mg of chlorpheniramine, and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. 
     
     
         2 . The product of  claim 1 , wherein the product comprises from 5 to 35 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         3 . The product of  claim 1 , wherein the product comprises from 10 to 30 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         4 . The product of  claim 1 , wherein the product comprises from 8 to 10 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         5 . The product of  claim 1 , wherein the product comprises from 3 to 20 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         6 . The product of  claim 1 , wherein the product comprises from 4 to 16 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         7 . The product of  claim 1 , wherein the oral dosage unit is a solid or a liquid. 
     
     
         8 . The product of  claim 1 , wherein the oral dosage unit is a tablet or a capsule. 
     
     
         9 . The product of  claim 1 , wherein the oral dosage unit is free of an additional active agent. 
     
     
         10 . A product for treatment of a sunburn in a subject in need thereof, the product comprising 3 to 40 oral dosage units, wherein each oral dosage unit comprises about 200 mg to about 600 mg of ibuprofen, about 2 mg to about 6 mg of chlorpheniramine, and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. 
     
     
         11 . The product of  claim 10 , wherein each oral dosage unit comprises about 200 mg, about 400 mg, or about 600 mg of ibuprofen; about 2 mg, about 4 mg, or about 6 mg of chlorpheniramine; and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. 
     
     
         12 . The product of  claim 10 , wherein the product comprises from 5 to 35 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         13 . The product of  claim 10 , wherein the product comprises from 10 to 30 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         14 . The product of  claim 10 , wherein the product comprises from 8 to 10 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         15 . The product of  claim 10 , wherein the product comprises from 3 to 20 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         16 . The product of  claim 10 , wherein the product comprises from 4 to 16 oral dosage units. 
     
     
         17 . The product of  claim 10 , wherein the oral dosage unit is a solid or a liquid. 
     
     
         18 . The product of  claim 10 , wherein the oral dosage unit is a tablet or a capsule. 
     
     
         19 . The product of  claim 10 , wherein each oral dosage unit is free of an additional active agent. 
     
     
         20 . A product for treatment of a sunburn in a subject in need thereof, the product comprising 3 to 40 oral dosage units, wherein each oral dosage unit comprises about 50 mg to about 800 mg of ibuprofen, about 1 mg to about 8 mg of chlorpheniramine, and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient; and wherein each oral dosage unit is free of an additional active agent.
