Balloon for angioplasty
Abstract
A balloon suitable for use in a catheter for carrying out a method for angioplasty consists of a middle cylindrical region and two end regions delimiting the middle cylindrical region. The balloon, with a pressure application of 6 bar, has a ratio of the cross section in the middle region to the cross sections in the two end regions of at least 2, and preferably greater than 3. The balloon can have a balloon wall thickness in the middle cylindrical region that is greater than or equal to a balloon wall thickness in the two end regions and is preferably more than 10% thicker than a balloon wall thickness in the two end sections.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A balloon suitable for use in a catheter for carrying out a method for angioplasty, consisting of a middle cylindrical region and two end regions delimiting the middle cylindrical region, wherein the balloon, with a pressure application of 6 bar, has a ratio of the cross section in the middle region to the cross sections in the two end regions of at least 2.
2 . The balloon as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the balloon consists of one of polyamide, polyether block amide, polyurethane, or PET.
3 . The balloon as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the balloon consists of PA12 or PEBAX.
4 . The balloon as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the ratio of the cross-section is greater than 3.
5 . The balloon as claimed in claim 1 , comprising a balloon wall thickness of 0.025 mm in the middle cylindrical region that is greater than a balloon wall thickness in the two end regions.
6 . The balloon as claimed in claim 5 , comprising an outer diameter of 3 mm.
7 . The balloon as claimed in claim 1 , comprising a balloon wall thickness in the middle cylindrical region that is greater than or equal to a balloon wall thickness in the two end regions.
8 . A balloon suitable for use in a catheter for carrying out a method for angioplasty consisting of a middle cylindrical region and two end conical regions delimiting the middle cylindrical region, wherein a balloon wall thickness in the middle cylindrical region is more than 10% thicker than a balloon wall thickness in the two end conical sections.
9 . The balloon as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the balloon wall thickness in the middle cylindrical region is up to 30% thicker than the balloon wall thickness in the two end conical sections.
10 . The balloon as claimed in claim 8 , having an outer diameter of 3 mm.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
