Pant-type wearable article
Abstract
A wearable article has a front elastic belt region, a back elastic belt region, a crotch region, a waist opening, and two leg openings. Each elastic belt region has a laminate having an inner sheet, an outer sheet, and an elastic member. The elastic member is bonded continuously for at least about 10 mm in the direction of stretch in a region adjacent side edges of the elastic belts. At least the outer sheet includes a first repeating pattern of apertures having a Longitudinal Orientation. Each aperture has an aspect ratio of no more than 3, a transverse dimension APT of at least 0.4 mm, and a longitudinal dimension APL. APT is at least 10% greater than APL. The apertures are spaced apart with a longitudinal pitch DF2 of no more than 5 mm and a transverse pitch DF1. APL is not larger than 50% of DF2.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A wearable article continuous in a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction comprising a front elastic belt region, a back elastic belt region, a crotch region, a waist opening, and a pair of leg openings; the crotch region extending longitudinally between the front elastic belt region and the back elastic belt region;
the front and back elastic belt regions each comprising a laminate, the laminate comprising an inner sheet, an outer sheet, an elastic member running in the transverse direction, an elastic bonding which continuously bonds the elastic member for at least about 10 mm in the direction of stretch in a region adjacent the side edges of the front and back elastic belts, wherein at least the outer sheet comprises a first repeating pattern of apertures wherein each aperture has an aspect ratio of no more than about 3, a transverse dimension APT of at least about 0.4 mm, and a longitudinal dimension APL, wherein APT is at least about 10% greater than APL, wherein the apetures in the first repeating pattern of apertures are spaced apart from each other with a longitudinal pitch DF 2 of no more than about 5 mm, and spaced apart from each other with a transverse pitch DF 1 , wherein APL is not larger than 50% of DF 2 , and wherein the first repeating pattern of apertures comprises a Longitudinal Orientation.
2 . The article of claim 1 wherein the first repeating pattern of apertures comprises a longitudinal repeating unit, wherein the longitudinal repeating unit is not linearly aligned in the transverse direction.
3 . The article of claim 2 wherein the first repeating pattern is a straight line in the longitudinal direction.
4 . The article of claim 2 wherein the first repeating pattern is sinusoidal.
5 . The article of claim 1 wherein the elastic member is a plurality of elastic strands running parallel to each other in the transverse direction with a longitudinal pitch of from about 2 mm to about 20 mm.
6 . The article of claim 5 wherein the laminate has a region wherein the elastic strands have a longitudinal pitch of from about 3 mm to about 7 mm.
7 . The article of claim 6 wherein the laminate has portions wherein the elastic strand spacing comprises at least 2 apertures.
8 . The article of claim 1 wherein the laminate comprises a vertical bonding applied to at least one of the inner sheet and the outer sheet with intervals in the transverse direction to intermittently bond the inner sheet and the outer sheet, the vertical bonding having a transverse dimension VG 2 and spaced apart from each other with a transverse pitch VG 1 , wherein VG 1 is greater than DF 1 , preferably VG 1 is at least about 1.5 times as DF 1 .
9 . The article of claim 8 wherein VG 1 is from about 2 mm to about 15 mm, and VG 2 is from about 0.2 mm to about 7 mm.
10 . The article of claim 8 wherein the vertical bonding is a discontinuous line extending in the longitudinal direction.
11 . The article of claim 10 wherein the vertical bonding is an array of discrete bondings aligned in the longitudinal direction wherein each discrete bonding has a longitudinal dimension of from about 0.5 mm to about 10 mm, a longitudinal pitch of from about 0.8 mm to about 5 mm, and a longitudinal spacing VG 3 of from no more than about 3 mm, wherein there is at least one discrete bonding between each elastic member.
12 . The article of any of claims 8 wherein the vertical bonding is tilted in an angle from the longitudinal axis by from about 0.1 to about 30 degrees, preferably from about 0.1 to about 15 degrees.
13 . The article of claim 12 wherein the first repeating pattern of apertures comprises a longitudinally extending unit, wherein the longitudinally extending unit is tilted in approximately the same angle as the vertical bonding.
14 . The article of claim 1 wherein the inner sheet comprises a second repeating pattern of apertures.
15 . The article of claim 14 wherein the second repeating pattern of apertures is different from the first repeating pattern of apertures in one or more of size, longitudinal pitch, or transverse pitch.
16 . The article of claim 1 wherein the inner sheet is non-apertured.
17 . The article of claim 1 wherein the crotch region comprises a third repeating pattern of apertures.
18 . The article of claim 17 wherein the third repeating pattern of apertures having a Longitudinal Orientation.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
