Abstract

A processor communicates over a network with a technical system executing software. A bot is used to monitor operation of software executed by the technical system. The processor receives data, over the network, from the bot regarding the remote monitoring of the software's operation. From the received data, the processor identifies a certain technical event affecting the operation of the software during a particular time window. An action is taken to resolve the identified technical event.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method implemented over a network between a processor and a technical system that includes software executed by the technical system, wherein the processor includes instructions for implementing the method, the method comprising:
 inputting information regarding the technical system; based on the input information, establishing a contract to pay for an expense incurred during a particular time window, wherein the expense is related to operation of at least a portion of the technical system during the particular time window; utilizing a bot for monitoring the software, wherein the utilized bot includes instructions for remotely monitoring the operation of the corresponding software during execution by the technical system; receiving over the network, data from the utilized bot regarding the remote monitoring of the operation of the software of the technical system; identifying from the received data a certain technical event affecting the operation of the software during the particular time window; and taking an action to resolve the identified technical event affecting the operation of the software.

         2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the established contract specifies at least one of: a deductible amount, a copayment amount, or a capitation amount for the particular time window.

         3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the utilizing the bot for monitoring the software includes implementing over the network an installation of the bot for monitoring the software, wherein the installed bot includes the instructions for remotely monitoring the operation of its corresponding software.

         4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the processor includes instructions for:
 determining that the contract specifies a deductible amount for the particular time window; and responsive to determining that the contract specifies a particular deductible amount, reducing a payment amount by a portion of the deductible amount.

         5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the resolving of certain events includes any of installing, modifying, repairing, replacing or removing any of the software.

         6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the certain events further comprise relocating the technical system to a different location.

         7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the particular time window is no longer than one month.

         8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at an expiration of the particular time window, a premium amount changes based on risk information.

         9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the monitoring of the operation of the software by the utilized bot is performed on any of a continuous or semi-continuous basis.

         10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
 responsive to the remote monitoring of the certain events within the particular time window, automatically adjusting a premium for the issued contract based on the remote monitoring of technical service usage of the technical system.

         11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the resolving the identified technical event is performed remotely from the technical system using a remote bot.

         12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the resolving the identified technical event is performed locally at the technical system using a locally-installed bot.

         13 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising by the processor:
 receiving a particular claim against the contract to pay expenses related to resolving the identified technical event affecting the software of the technical system; and determining a payment amount based at least on a cost of the resolving of the identified technical event affecting the software of the technical system, and at least one of:
 a deductible amount;
 a copayment amount; or
 a capitation amount specified by the contract; and
   paying the payment amount to a contract holder of the established contract.

         14 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the established contract is issued to a person considered as a contract holder associated with the technical system.

         15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the established contract includes a provision for coinsurance for the technical system.

         16 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the established contract includes a provision for territorial rating, which is based on a physical location in which the technical system executing the software is located.

         17 . The method of claim 1 , wherein coverage for a pre-existing condition of the software is limited or excluded by the issued contact for a period of time.

         18 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the issued contract includes coverage for installation a patch for the software, wherein the patch corresponds any of an update, a bug fix, or security.

         19 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a computer program comprising a program code for performing, over a network between a processor and a technical system that executes software, steps comprising:
 inputting information regarding the technical system; based on the input information, establishing a contract to pay for an expense incurred during a particular time window, wherein the expense is related to operation of at least a portion of the technical system during the particular time window; utilizing a bot for monitoring the device or the software, wherein the utilized bot includes instructions for remotely monitoring the operation of its corresponding software; receiving over the network data from the utilized bot regarding the remote monitoring of the operation of the electronic device or the software of the technical system; identifying from the received data a certain technical event affecting the operation of the software during the particular time window; and taking an action to resolve the identified technical event affecting the operation of the software.

         20 . A system implemented over a network with a technical system that executes, the system comprising:
 a computer including a processor; and a network interface between the processor and the network; wherein the processor implements a process including:
 inputting information regarding the technical system;
 based on the input information, establishing a contract to pay for an expense incurred during a particular time window, wherein the expense is related to operation of at least a portion of the technical system during the particular time window;
 utilizing a bot for monitoring the software, wherein the utilized bot includes instructions for remotely monitoring the operation of its corresponding software;
 receiving over the network data from the utilized bot regarding the remote monitoring of the operation of the software of the technical system;
 identifying from the received data a certain technical event affecting the operation of the software during the particular time window; and
 taking an action to resolve the identified technical event affecting the operation of the software.
