Process and apparatus for providing durable plant tags for horticultural organization

Abstract

A system and method for selecting plants based on climate data and plant data. The system receives climate data and plant data and selects plants for a geographical division based on the climate data and plant data. The system generates durable plant tags with for the plants that have an icon that identifies the lighting level and watering level of the plants using a color and a number.

We claim: 
     
         1 . A system for sending plant alerts comprising:
 a remote device,   a server connected to the remote device;   the server having a processor and a memory;   the memory storing instruments that, when executed by the processor cause the server to perform the steps comprising:
 identifying a plant ID; 
 generating a winterize schedule for a plant associated with the plant ID; 
 generating a fertilize schedule for the plant associated with the plant ID; 
 iteratively advancing through the winterize schedule and the fertilize schedule to locate at least one of the group of a winterize action date and a fertilize action date; 
 generating at least one of the group of a winterize alert and a fertilize alert; 
 sending the winterize alert on the winterize alert date to the hand held device; and, 
 sending the fertilize alert on the fertilize alert date to the hand held device.
