Abstract
Embodiments of inventive concepts are provided wherein a mobile device, such as a smartphone, may transmit information to a base station, either directly or via auxiliary/slave devices, using first and second spatial polarizations, in order to increase spectral efficiency. Pre-processing at the mobile device and/or post-processing at the base station may be used to reduce cross-polarization interference.

1 . A system comprising a master device and a processor that controls the master device to perform operations comprising:
communicating with at least one slave device; requesting a processing capability from the at least one slave device; receiving an acknowledgement that the at least one slave device can provide said processing capability; and receiving the processing capability from the at least one slave device.

The system according to claim 1 , wherein said communicating comprises wirelessly communicating, said requesting comprises wirelessly requesting, said receiving an acknowledgement comprises wirelessly receiving the acknowledgement and wherein said receiving the processing capability comprises wirelessly receiving the processing capability.
3 . The system according to claim 2 , wherein said wirelessly communicating comprises wirelessly communicating using a Bluetooth link and/or a WiFi link.
4 . The system according to claim 3 , wherein each one of said wirelessly requesting, wirelessly receiving the acknowledgement and wirelessly receiving the processing capability comprises wirelessly communicating using the Bluetooth link and/or the WiFi link.
5 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the master device comprises a smartphone and wherein the at least one slave device comprises a smartphone.
6 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the master device is proximate to the at least one slave device.
7 . The system according to claim 6 , wherein said proximate comprises a distance of 100 meters or less.
8 . The system according to claim 6 , wherein said proximate comprises a distance of 10 meters or less.
9 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein said at least one slave device comprises two distinct slave devices.
10 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein said requesting a processing capability comprises:
requesting by the master device that the at least one slave device wirelessly receive data and retransmit the data.
11 . The system according to claim 10 , wherein said requesting a processing capability further comprises:
causing the at least one slave device to regenerate and/or reformat data that is received from the master device and to retransmit the data.
12 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the processor is external to the master device.
13 . The system according to claim 1 , wherein the processor is within the master device.
14 . A method used by a master device; the method comprising:
communicating with at least one slave device; requesting a processing capability from the at least one slave device; receiving an acknowledgement that the at least one slave device can provide said processing capability; and receiving the processing capability from the at least one slave device.
15 . The method according to claim 14 , wherein said communicating comprises wirelessly communicating, said requesting comprises wirelessly requesting, said receiving an acknowledgement comprises wirelessly receiving the acknowledgement and wherein said receiving the processing capability comprises wirelessly receiving the processing capability.
16 . The method according to claim 15 , wherein said wirelessly communicating comprises wirelessly communicating using a Bluetooth link and/or a WiFi link.
17 . The method according to claim 16 , wherein each one of said wirelessly requesting, wirelessly receiving the acknowledgement and wirelessly receiving the processing capability comprises wirelessly communicating using the Bluetooth link and/or the WiFi link.
18 . The method according to claim 14 , wherein the master device comprises a smartphone and wherein the at least one slave device comprises a smartphone.
19 . The method according to claim 14 , wherein the master device is proximate to the at least one slave device.
20 . The method according to claim 19 , wherein said proximate comprises a distance of 100 meters or less.
21 . The method according to claim 19 , wherein said proximate comprises a distance of 10 meters or less.
22 . The method according to claim 14 , wherein said at least one slave device comprises two distinct slave devices.
23 . The method according to claim 14 , wherein said requesting a processing capability comprises:
requesting by the master device that the at least one slave device wirelessly receive data and retransmit the data.
24 . The method according to claim 23 , wherein said requesting a processing capability further comprises:
