Abstract
A computing device includes a memory, a display for displaying data stored in the memory, a surface for detecting user input, and one or more processing units configured to identify a command, and automatically identify one or more variables, associated with at least one function, representing a plurality of at least one location in the memory, based on at least one portion of the command. The at least one function is configured to automatically determine one of the plurality of at least one location at which to apply the command to at least one portion of an image, based on the one or more variables. The display and the surface are, for example, of a touch screen.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A computing device, comprising:
a memory, a display for displaying data stored in the memory, and one or more processing units, configured to
identify a command, and
automatically identify one or more variables, associated with at least one function, representing a plurality of at least one location in the memory, based on at least one portion of the command,
wherein the at least one function is configured to automatically determine one of the plurality of at least one location, at which to apply the command to at least one portion of an image, based on the one or more variables.
2 . The computing device of claim 1 , further comprising a surface for detecting user input.
3 . The computing device of claim 2 , wherein an indication of the command being within the user input.
4 . The computing device of claim 2 , wherein the display and the surface are of a touch screen.
5 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein to apply the command to the at least one portion of the image comprises to at least one of, automatically: insert, paste, select, delete, remove, copy, cut, move and change color or size of, the at least one portion of the image.
6 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein said to automatically identify one or more variables is further based on at least one portion of an indication of the command.
7 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein said to automatically determine the one of the plurality of at least one location is further based on the at least one portion of the command.
8 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein:
the display is further for displaying an indication of the command, wherein in response to detecting an indication to apply the command: the computing device is configured to display the command, applied to the at least one portion of the image at the one of the plurality of at least one location, in place of the displayed indication of the command.
9 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one function comprises to extend selection or move from a current location in the memory as represented on the display to right or left of the current location,
above or below the current location, or a start location or end location within a line of image data, as represented on the display.
10 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one function comprises to move from a current location in the memory to
a start location or end location in the memory, a starting location within the one of the plurality of at least one location, or an ending location within the one of the plurality of at least one location.
11 . The computing device of claim 1 , wherein the one of the plurality of at least one location comprises at least one of:
a start location or end location within a range of locations or a single location at which to select, delete, copy, cut, replace, paste, insert or change color or size of, a portion of the image, a location from which to remove a portion of the image, a location to which to move a portion of the image, a start location or end location within a range of locations from which to remove a portion of the image, and
a start location or end location within a range of locations to which to move a portion of the image.
12 . A method, comprising:
displaying on a display data stored in a memory; identifying a command; and automatically identifying one or more variables, associated with at least one function, representing a plurality of at least one location in the memory, based on at least one portion of the command, wherein the at least one function is configured to automatically determine one of the plurality of at least one location, at which to apply the command to at least one portion of an image, based on the one or more variables.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein to apply the command to the at least one portion of the image comprises to at least one of, automatically: insert, paste, select, delete, remove, copy, cut, move and change color or size of, the at least one portion of the image.
14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein said automatically identifying one or more variables is further based on at least one portion of an indication of the command.
15 . The method of claim 12 , wherein said to automatically determine the one of the plurality of at least one location is further based on the at least one portion of the command.
16 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the at least one function is further configured to automatically select one or more portions of the image at the one of the plurality of at least one location.
17 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising:
displaying on the display an indication of the command; detecting an indication to apply the command; wherein in response to detecting the indication to apply the command:
displaying the command, applied to the at least one portion of the image at the one of the plurality of at least one location, in place of the displayed indication of the command.
18 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the one of the plurality of at least one location comprises at least one of:
a start location or end location within a range of locations or a single location at which to select, delete, copy, cut, replace, paste, insert or change color or size of, a portion of the image, a location from which to remove a portion of the image, a location to which to move a portion of the image, a start location or end location within a range of locations from which to remove a portion of the image, and a start location or end location within a range of locations to which to move a portion of the image.
19 . A computing device, comprising:
a memory, a display for displaying data stored in the memory, and one or more processing units, configured to
identify a command, and
automatically identify one or more variables, associated with at least one function, representing a plurality of at least one of start locations and end locations, based on the command; wherein:
the at least one function is configured to automatically determine a range of locations in the memory at which to apply the command to a plurality of portions of an image, based on the one or more variables, and
one of the plurality of at least one of start locations and end locations being within the range of locations.
20 . The computing device of claim 19 , further comprising a surface for detecting user input.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
