Pharmaceutical composition for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or complication thereof and/or nephritis and method for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or complication thereof and/or nephritis

Abstract

The present disclosure provides a pharmaceutical composition for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or complication thereof and/or nephritis, including: an effective amount of an extract of a plant belonging to Rutaceae as an effective ingredient for treating or alleviating the autoimmune disease and/or complication thereof and/or nephritis, wherein the autoimmune disease is selected from a group consisting of lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis (UC).

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A pharmaceutical composition for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis, comprising:
 an effective amount of a compound as an effective ingredient for treating or alleviating the autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis,
 wherein the compound is at least one compound selected from a group consisting of: 
 (a) a compound having Formula (I): 
   
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         
           (b) a compound having Formula (II): 
         
       
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       and
   (c) a compound having Formula (III):   
 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         
           wherein R 1  is C 1 -C 5  alkyl, 
         
       
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       R 2  is H or C 1 -C 3  alkyl, R 3  is H or C 1 -C 3  alkyl, R 4  is H or C 1 -C 3  alkyl, and R 5  is H or C 1 -C 3  alkyl. 
     
     
         2 . The pharmaceutical composition as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein the compound having Formula (I) is prangenin, imperatorin or 8-geranyloxypsoralen. 
     
     
         3 . The pharmaceutical composition as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein the compound having Formula (II) is ζ-clausenamide. 
     
     
         4 . The pharmaceutical composition as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein the compound having Formula (III) is indizoline. 
     
     
         5 . The pharmaceutical composition as claimed in  claim 1 , wherein the effective ingredient is the compound having Formula (I). 
     
     
         6 . The pharmaceutical composition as claimed in  claim 5 , wherein the autoimmune disease is lupus erythematosus. 
     
     
         7 . The pharmaceutical composition as claimed in  claim 6 , wherein the lupus erythematosus is systemic lupus erythematosus. 
     
     
         8 . The pharmaceutical composition as claimed in  claim 6 , wherein the complication of the autoimmune disease is lupus nephritis. 
     
     
         9 . The pharmaceutical composition as claimed in  claim 5 , used for treating a common nephritis. 
     
     
         10 . The pharmaceutical composition as claimed in  claim 5 , wherein the compound having Formula (I) is 8-geranyloxypsoralen. 
     
     
         11 . The pharmaceutical composition as claimed in  claim 1 , further comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or salt. 
     
     
         12 . A method for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis, comprising:
 administering an effective amount of a compound to a subject in need thereof to treat or alleviate the autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis, wherein the compound is at least one compound selected from a group consisting of:
 (a) a compound having Formula (I): 
   
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         
           (b) a compound having Formula (II): 
         
       
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       and
   (c) a compound having Formula (III):   
 
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
         wherein R 1  is C 1 -C 5  alkyl, 
       
       
         
           
           
               
               
           
         
       
       R 2  is H or C 1 -C 3  alkyl, R 3  is H or C 1 -C 3  alkyl, R 4  is H or C 1 -C 3  alkyl, and R 5  is H or C 1 -C 3  alkyl,
 wherein the compound is an effective ingredient for treating or alleviating the autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis. 
 
     
     
         13 . The method for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis as claimed in  claim 12 , wherein the compound having Formula (I) is prangenin, imperatorin or 8-geranyloxypsoralen. 
     
     
         14 . The method for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis as claimed in  claim 12 , wherein the compound having Formula (II) is ζ-clausenamide. 
     
     
         15 . The method for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis as claimed in  claim 12 , wherein the compound having Formula (III) is indizoline. 
     
     
         16 . The method for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis as claimed in  claim 12 , wherein the effective ingredient is the compound having Formula (I). 
     
     
         17 . The method for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis as claimed in  claim 16 , wherein the autoimmune disease is lupus erythematosus. 
     
     
         18 . The method for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis as claimed in  claim 17 , wherein the lupus erythematosus is systemic lupus erythematosus. 
     
     
         19 . The method for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis as claimed in  claim 16 , wherein the complication of the autoimmune disease is lupus nephritis. 
     
     
         20 . The method for treating or alleviating an autoimmune disease and/or a complication thereof and/or nephritis as claimed in  claim 16 , wherein the compound having Formula (I) is 8-geranyloxypsoralen.
