Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method of treating ischemia-reperfusion injury manifested by gastrointestinal dysfunction in a subject, the method comprising administering to the subject a humanized AQC2 blocking anti-Very Late Activation Antigen-1 (VLA-1) antibody, or an antigen-binding fragment thereof, in an amount effective to treat the injury.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the humanized AQC2 blocking VLA-1 antibody, or the antigen-binding fragment thereof, is produced by a hybridoma having ATCC Deposit No. PTA-3274.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the humanized AQC2 blocking VLA-1 antibody, or the antigen binding fragment thereof, is administered intravenously or parenterally to the subject.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the gastrointestinal dysfunction comprises hemorrhage, infarction, multisystem organ dysfunction (MSOD), or acute systemic inflammatory distress syndrome (SIRS).

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject is a mammal.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the subject is a human.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the humanized AQC2 blocking VLA-1 antibody, or the antigen-binding fragment thereof, is administered in combination with another therapeutic agent.
