Abstract
The system and methods described herein provide for dynamic provisioning of computing resources for an enterprise resource planning system. The dynamic provisioning system provisions an original configuration of computing resources upon selection from a client device, and then provides for further dynamic provisioning by evaluating the real-time performance of the ERP system or by analyzing historical performance and consumption information of the ERP system or by using a combination to predict the anticipated stress on the computing resources placed by future performance of the ERP system.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A system comprising:
a server programmed to:
perform a set of ERP transactions over a set of months during a set of years, wherein the set of months includes a month, wherein the set of years includes a year;
receive a request from a client over a network;
serve a user interface to the client over the network in response to the request, wherein the user interface includes a first section, a second section, and a third section, wherein the user interface presents the first section and the third section external to the second section, wherein the first section includes (a) a set of navigational user input elements programmed to select the month from the set of months for when the set of ERP transactions occurred and the year from the set of years when the set of ERP transactions occurred, and (b) a display displaying the month and the year as selected by the set of navigational user input elements, wherein the second section includes a table defined by a first horizontal side, a second horizontal side, a first vertical side, and a second vertical side, wherein the first horizontal side is consecutively populated with a set of numerical calendar days for the month from a first numerical day of the month to a last numerical day of the month, wherein the first vertical side is consecutively populated with a set of time intervals defining a day period, wherein the table is populated with a set of counts of the set of ERP transactions for the month and the year according to the time intervals, wherein the second horizontal side is populated with a first set of totals of the set of the counts for the set of time intervals defining the day period for each member of the set of numerical calendar days, wherein the second vertical side is populated with a second set of totals of the set of the counts for each member of the set of time intervals from the first numerical day of the month to the last numerical day of the month and including a total of the second set of totals, wherein the table includes a heat map including a defined area enclosing a subset of the set of counts satisfying a first predetermined threshold and highlighting a member of the subset satisfying a second predetermined threshold, wherein the first predetermined threshold is distinct from the second predetermined threshold, wherein the third section is programmed to receive a selection;
provision a computing resource according to a first configuration in response to the selection;
predict the subset based on a set of metadata associated with the set of transactions;
form a second configuration based on the subset being predicted such that the computer resource can handle the subset; and
re-provision the computing resource according to the second configuration such that the computer resource can handle the subset.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the display is presented within the set of navigational user input elements.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the member of the subset is highlighted in a first manner when satisfying the second predetermined threshold and a second manner when satisfying a third predetermined threshold.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the user interface presents a legend informative of the second threshold.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the second section is presented between the first section and the legend.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the set of time intervals includes a time interval and the second set of totals includes a total value corresponding to the time interval, wherein the time interval is visually distinct relative to the set of time intervals remaining based on the total value being highest relative to the second set of totals remaining, wherein the total value is visually distinct relative to the second set of totals remaining based on the total value being highest relative to the second set of totals remaining.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the set of numerical calendar days includes a numerical calendar day, wherein the first set of totals includes a total value corresponding to the numerical calendar day, wherein the numerical calendar day is visually distinct relative to the set of numerical calendar days remaining based on the total value being highest relative to the first set of totals remaining, wherein the total value is visually distinct relative to the first set of totals remaining based on the total value being highest relative to the first set of totals remaining.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each member of the set of time intervals are equal in duration.Cited by (0)
