Hemostatic material and wound dressing containing same

Abstract

A hemostatic material containing cationized cellulose and a wound dressing containing the hemostatic are provided. At least one of hydroxyl groups of the cationized cellulose is modified with —R2—N+(R3)(R4)(R5).X−, other hydroxyl groups of the cationized cellulose have —H, or —(CH2CH2O)m—H, R2 represents C1-6 alkylene, C2-6 hydroxyalkylene, —(CH2CH2O)l—, or a combination thereof, l represents 1 or 2, m represents 1 or 2, and X− may represent an anionic group.

1 . A hemostatic material comprising cationized cellulose. 
     
     
         2 . The hemostatic material according to  claim 1 , wherein the cationized cellulose is of formula (1):

 at least one of R 1  represents —R 2 —N + (R 3 )(R 4 )(R 5 ).X − , 
 other R 1  each represent —H, or —(CH 2 CH 2 O) m —H, 
 R 2  represents C 1-6  alkylene, C 2-6  hydroxyalkylene, —(CH 2 CH 2 O) l —, or a combination thereof, 
 l represents 1 or 2, 
 m represents 1 or 2, 
 X −  represents an anionic group, and 
 R 3 , R 4  and R 5  each represent C 1-6  alkyl, C 1-6  alkenyl, O—C 1-6  alkyl, C a Y b  heteroalkyl or heteroalkenyl, wherein Y represents a hetero atom, (a+b) ranges from 4 to 6, and a saturated or unsaturated 5- or 6-membered ring containing a nitrogen atom is formed upon binding with the nitrogen atom. 
 
       
     
     
         3 . The hemostatic material according to  claim 2 , wherein the at least one R 1  in the formula (1) represents —CH 2 CH 2 O—CH 2 CH(OH)CH 2 —N + (R 3 )(R 4 )(R 5 ).X − , and R 3 , R 4  and R 5  each represent a methyl group or an ethyl group. 
     
     
         4 . The hemostatic material according to  claim 2 , wherein the at least one R 1  in the formula (1) represents —CH 2 CH(OH)CH 2 N + (R 3 )(R 4 )(R 5 ).X − , and R 3 , R 4  and R 5  each represent a methyl group or an ethyl group. 
     
     
         5 . The hemostatic material according to  claim 3 , or wherein at least one of the other R 1  represents —(CH 2 CH 2 O) m H. 
     
     
         6 . A wound dressing comprising the hemostatic material according to  claim 1  as a component. 
     
     
         7 . A wound dressing comprising cationized cellulose. 
     
     
         8 . The hemostatic material according to  claim 4 , wherein at least one of the other R 1  represents —(CH 2 CH 2 O) m H.
