Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

- 133 . (canceled)

. A method of treating cancer in a subject comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a strain of Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis comprising a genome having at least 95% sequence identity to the genome of Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis Strain A (ATCC Deposit Number PTA-125097) to treat the cancer.

. The method of claim 134 , wherein the cancer is a non-small cell lung cancer, a colorectal cancer, a triple negative breast cancer, a bladder cancer, a gastroesophageal cancer, a renal cell carcinoma, or a solid tumor.

. The method of claim 134 , wherein the bacterial composition is administered orally.

. The method of claim 134 , wherein the bacterial composition is formulated as a capsule or a tablet.

. The method of claim 134 , wherein the bacterial composition comprises at least 7.5×10 10 colony forming units (CFUs) of Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis.

. The method of claim 134 , wherein the bacterial composition is administered at least once daily.

. The method of claim 134 , wherein the bacterial composition is administered twice daily.

. The method of claim 134 , wherein the bacterial composition is administered in two or more doses.

. The method of claim 134 , wherein the method further comprises administering to the subject a second cancer therapy.

. The method of claim 142 , wherein the second cancer therapy is administered once every 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, or 5 weeks.

. The method of claim 142 , wherein the second cancer therapy comprises cancer immunotherapy.

. The method of claim 144 , wherein the cancer immunotherapy comprises administering an immune checkpoint inhibitor to the subject.

. The method of claim 145 , wherein the immune checkpoint inhibitor is an anti-PD-1 antibody.

. The method of claim 146 , wherein the anti-PD-1 antibody is nivolumab or pembrolizumab.

. The method of claim 147 , wherein pembrolizumab is administered intravenously.

. The method of claim 145 , wherein the immune checkpoint inhibitor is an anti-PD-L1 antibody.

. The method of claim 149 , wherein the anti-PD-L1 antibody is atezolizumab, avelumab, or durvalumab.

. The method of claim 149 , wherein the anti-PD-L1 antibody is administered intravenously.

. The method of claim 145 , wherein the immune checkpoint inhibitor is an anti-CTLA-4 antibody.

. The method of claim 152 , wherein the anti-CTLA-4 antibody is ipilimumab.

. The method of claim 153 , wherein ipilimumab is administered intravenously.

. A pharmaceutical composition formulated for oral administration comprising a strain of Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. Lactis comprising a genome having at least 95% sequence identity to the genome of Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis Strain A (ATCC Deposit Number PTA-125097) and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier with an enteric coating.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 155 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition is formulated in an enteric coated capsule.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 155 , wherein the enteric coating is a coating for duodenal release at a pH of about 5.5-6.2.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 155 , wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises an enteric coated tablet.

. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 155 , wherein the Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. Lactis Strain are live bacteria or freeze-dried.
