System and method for providing listing assistance

Abstract

In various example embodiments, a system and method for providing listing assistance to a user for generating an item listing is provided. In example embodiments, user input is received from a device of the user. Information regarding item listings that correspond to the user input is accessed. Statistic data is generated using the accessed information. The statistic data is provided for display to the device of the user for generating the item listing.

         21 . A system comprising:
 at least one processor; and   memory encoding computer executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:
 receive input from a user device, the input comprising a picture of a product related to a publication for a product listing on a network-based marketplace; 
 retrieve, based upon the received input, a plurality of publications by querying a publication database based on the input; 
 generate statistic data using information from the plurality of publications by determining an average price for the product listing based upon the plurality of publications and calculating information from the plurality of publications; and 
 provide the statistic data including a minimum price and a maximum price. 
   
     
     
         22 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the statistics data is provided to a user device for display on a user interface. 
     
     
         23 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the input further comprises a product identifier. 
     
     
         24 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the statistics data further comprises shipping method data. 
     
     
         25 . The system of  claim 21 , wherein the statistics data further comprises counts directed to the immediate payment availability for the product listing. 
     
     
         26 . A method comprising:
 receiving input from a user device, the input identifying a listing of a product on a network-based marketplace;   retrieving information related to the listing of the product;   querying a publication database for information regarding a plurality of publications related to the listing of the product;   generating statistics data using information from the plurality of publications by determining an average price for the product listing based upon the plurality of publications and calculating information from the plurality of publications; and   providing the statistic data including a minimum price and a maximum price.   
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 26 , wherein the statistics data further comprises an average sales price for the product. 
     
     
         28 . The method of  claim 26 , wherein the statistics data further comprises shipping information. 
     
     
         29 . The method of  claim 26 , wherein providing the statistics data comprising causing the user device to display a user interface for the product listing. 
     
     
         30 . The method of  claim 29 , wherein the user interface comprises a listing portion displaying data regarding the product and a statistic portion displaying the statistics data. 
     
     
         31 . The method of  claim 30 , wherein the listing portion is presented above the statistics portion. 
     
     
         32 . The method of  claim 31 , wherein the statistics portion comprises a graphical chart. 
     
     
         33 . The method of  claim 32 , wherein the user interface is operable to display a data tip detailing statistic information when a cursor hovers over the graphical chart. 
     
     
         34 . A computer storage medium encoding computer-executable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, perform a method comprising:
 receiving input from a user device, the input identifying a listing of a product on a network-based marketplace;   retrieving information related to the listing of the product;   querying a publication database for information regarding a plurality of publications related to the listing of the product;   generating statistics data using information from the plurality of publications by determining an average price for the product listing based upon the plurality of publications and calculating information from the plurality of publications; and   providing the statistic data including a minimum price and a maximum price.   
     
     
         35 . The computer storage medium of  claim 34 , wherein the statistics data further comprises an average sales price for the product. 
     
     
         36 . The computer storage medium of  claim 35 , wherein providing the statistics data comprising causing the user device to display a user interface for the product listing.
