Abstract
Methods and apparatus for instant capture of content are described. A method may include enabling a component to capture content capture opportunity data prior to initiating an image sensor and an optical component to capture image content, automatically determining a content capture opportunity by processing the captured content capture opportunity data, automatically selecting, for the content capture opportunity, an image capture device mode based on the processed captured content capture opportunity data, and instantly capturing and storing, using the image sensor and the optical component, image content using the selected image capture device mode, wherein the capturing is stopped based on an event.

1 . An image capture device, comprising:
an audio component configured to capture audio data prior to initiating an image sensor and an optical component to capture image content; an opportunity processor configured to automatically determine a content capture opportunity by processing the captured audio data; for a determined content capture opportunity, a processor configured to automatically select an image capture device mode based on the processed captured audio data; and the image sensor and the optical component configured to instantly capture image content using the selected image capture device mode.
2 . The image capture device of claim 1 , wherein the audio device is enabled for a defined period.
3 . The image capture device of claim 1 , wherein the audio device is enabled for an event mode.
4 . The image capture device of claim 1 , wherein the content capture opportunity is based on classification of sounds in the captured audio data.
5 . The image capture device of claim 1 , wherein the content capture opportunity is based on recognition of commands in the captured audio data.
6 . The image capture device of claim 5 , wherein the recognized commands are matched against known commands.
7 . The image capture device of claim 1 , wherein the image capture device mode is based on classification of sounds in the captured audio data.
8 . The image capture device of claim 1 , wherein the image capture device mode is based on recognition of commands in the captured audio data.
9 . The image capture device of claim 8 , wherein the recognized commands are matched against known commands.
10 . The image capture device of claim 1 , the processor further configured to update the image capture device mode based on a captured image.
11 . The image capture device of claim 1 , the image sensor and the optical component configured to stop capturing image content based on further captured audio data.
12 . A method for instantly capturing image information, the method comprising:
enabling a component to capture content capture opportunity data prior to initiating an image sensor and an optical component to capture image content; automatically determining a content capture opportunity by processing the captured content capture opportunity data; automatically selecting, for the content capture opportunity, an image capture device mode based on the processed captured content capture opportunity data; and instantly capturing and storing, using the image sensor and the optical component, image content using the selected image capture device mode, wherein the capturing is stopped based on an event.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the component is enabled for a defined period.
14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the component is enabled for an event mode.
15 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the content capture opportunity is based on classification of the captured content capture opportunity data.
16 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the content capture opportunity is based on recognition of commands in the captured content capture opportunity data.
17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein recognized commands are matched against known commands.
18 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the image capture device mode is based on classification of the captured content capture opportunity data.
19 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the image capture device mode is based on recognition of commands in the captured content capture opportunity data.
20 . An image capture device, comprising:
an image sensor and an optical component; an audio component configured to capture audio data prior to initiating the image sensor and the optical component to capture image content; a processor configured to:
automatically determine a content capture opportunity by processing the captured audio data; and
for a determined content capture opportunity, automatically select an image capture device mode based on the processed captured audio data; and
