Abstract

A transparent cover member for a skin treatment device passes light and heat to a user's skin. The transparent cover member presents a comfortable flat surface at its exterior, and includes features that couple to a heating element that surrounds a plurality of visible light LEDs. The transparent cover member can include retaining features to assist in assembling the head assembly of the skin treatment device.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A cover member for a skin treatment device, comprising:
a transparent top having a front and a back, the front being configured to face outward from the skin treatment device, the back being opposite the front and having and central portion, an outside wall extending down from the front, around an entirety of a perimeter of the front, to a bottom that turns inward from the outside wall towards the central portion; and a standoff portion that extends downward from the back around the central portion, wherein a bottom of the standoff portion is lower than the central portion.

2 . The cover member of claim 1 , wherein the transparent top is comprised of sapphire glass.

3 . The cover member of claim 1 , wherein the transparent top is comprised of silicon.

4 . The cover member of claim 1 , wherein the transparent top further comprises, on the back, an ultrasonic coupling feature extending from the back in the central portion.

5 . The cover member of claim 1 , wherein the transparent top is comprised of material that is selected to be less transparent for some wavelengths of infrared light while being more transparent for other wavelengths of infrared light.

6 . The cover member of claim 1 , wherein a surface of front of the transparent top is frosted.

7 . A cover member for a skin treatment device that provides light and heat therapy to a user's skin, comprising:
a transparent top having a front that faces outward from the skin treatment device, a back that is opposite the front and includes a central portion, an outside wall extending down from the front around an entirety of a perimeter of the front to a bottom, the bottom extending inward toward the central portion from the outside wall around an entirety of the outside wall; an inner wall that extends downward from the back and surrounds the central portion; and wherein a hollow space is formed at back that is bounded by the back at the central portion and the inner wall, and wherein the bottom of the outside wall is lower than the back at the central portion.

8 . The cover member of claim 7 , wherein the transparent top is comprised of sapphire glass.

9 . The cover member of claim 7 , wherein the transparent top is comprised of silicon.

10 . The cover member of claim 7 , wherein the transparent top is comprised of material that is selectively transparent for selected wavelengths of infrared light.

11 . The cover member of claim 7 , wherein a surface of the transparent top and a surface of the outside wall are frosted.

12 . A transparent head for a skin treatment device, comprising:
a front portion having a front surface that is configured to face outward from the skin treatment device; a back portion that is opposite the flat front portion and which includes a central portion; an outside wall portion extending down from the flat front portion around an entirety of a perimeter of the flat front portion to a bottom; the bottom of the outside wall forming a surface that perpendicular to the outside wall; and the back portion defining a hollow space that is bounded by the central portion and an inner wall that extends down from the central around an entirety of the central portion, and wherein the bottom of the outside wall is lower than the central portion.

13 . The transparent head of claim 12 , wherein the transparent cover member consists entirely of sapphire glass or silicon.

14 . The transparent head of claim 12 , wherein the top of the transparent cover member is frosted.

15 . The transparent head of claim 12 , wherein the transparent cover member is comprised of material that is selected to be less transparent for some wavelengths of infrared light while being more transparent for other wavelengths of infrared light.
