Methods and apparatus for using artificial intelligence entities to provide information to an end user
Abstract
A method for using an artificial intelligence (AI) entity to interface with a customer relationship management (CRM) software platform online is provided. The method receives user input changes to the CRM software platform, by the AI entity comprising at least one processor and a memory element, wherein the AI entity is configured to perform chat-bot functionality; alters, by the at least one processor, contents of the CRM software platform associated with the user input changes, in response to the AI entity receiving the user input changes; continuously receives CRM data from the CRM software platform, by the at least one processor; receives, by the at least one processor, a user request for a subset of the CRM data; and in response to the user request, transmits the subset.

21 . A method for using a chat-bot to interface with an enterprise software platform, the method comprising:
receiving, by the chat-bot over a network, text data corresponding to an input to a user interface; performing, by the chat-bot, functionality to interpret intent of a user by matching the text data to an action at the enterprise software platform; and performing, by the chat-bot, the action at the enterprise software platform to alter contents of the enterprise software platform in response to the chat-bot receiving the text data, wherein data is received from the enterprise software platform in response to the action.
22 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising redirecting, by the chat-bot, a request to a live agent when the text data comprises a user query that does not have a predefined answer.
23 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising establishing, by the chat-bot, a communication connection between a communication platform comprising the user interface and a live agent.
24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein receiving the text data comprises receiving a communication from a communication platform over a communication connection established with the communication platform.
25 . The method of claim 24 , wherein the communication platform comprises a chat product, a chat service, or a text messaging platform providing the user interface.

The method of claim 21 , further comprising transmitting, by the chat-bot, authentication details to the enterprise software platform to establish a second communication connection with the enterprise software platform over the network in response to establishing a first communication connection with a communication platform comprising the user interface using first details received from the communication platform.

The method of claim 26 , wherein the first details comprise connected application details transmitted to the chat-bot by the communication platform for purposes of establishing the first communication connection after receiving user login credentials for logging into the communication platform.
28 . The method of claim 21 , wherein performing the action comprises the chat-bot utilizing an application programming interface (API) to perform the action and access the data maintained by the enterprise software platform.
29 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising providing, by the chat-bot, an automated response to the input for presentation within the user interface based on the data.
30 . The method of claim 29 , wherein providing the automated response comprises simulating human conversation through artificial intelligence (AI).
31 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the enterprise software platform comprises a customer relationship management (CRM) software platform and the data comprises CRM data received from the CRM software platform in response to the action.
32 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the chat-bot comprises a digital assistant.
33 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the chat-bot comprises an artificial intelligence (AI) engine.
34 . The method of claim 21 , wherein performing the functionality to interpret the intent comprises utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to match the text data to the action.
35 . The method of claim 21 , wherein:
the input comprises a conversational input; and performing the functionality to interpret the intent comprises utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to match the conversational input to the action.
36 . The method of claim 21 , wherein performing the functionality to interpret the intent comprises:
matching the text data to a stored text-based message; and identifying the action at the enterprise software platform corresponding to the stored text-based message.
37 . A non-transitory machine-readable storage medium that provides instructions that, when executed by a processor, are configurable to cause said processor to perform operations comprising:
receiving, over a network, conversational input to a user interface; performing chat-bot functionality to interpret intent of a user by matching the conversational input to an action at an enterprise software platform; performing the action at the enterprise software platform to alter contents of the enterprise software platform in response to receiving the conversational input; and providing an automated response to the input for presentation within the user interface based on data is received from the enterprise software platform in response to the action.
38 . The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 37 , wherein the instructions are configurable to cause said processor to utilize an application programming interface (API) to perform the action and access the data maintained by the enterprise software platform over the network.
39 . The non-transitory machine-readable storage medium of claim 37 , wherein the instructions are configurable to cause said processor to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) to match text data corresponding to the conversational input to a stored text-based message corresponding to the action.
40 . A system comprising:
a non-transitory machine-readable storage medium that stores software; and a processor, coupled to the non-transitory machine-readable storage medium, to execute the software that implements a chat-both and that is configurable to:
receive, over a network, conversational input to a user interface;
perform chat-bot functionality to interpret intent of a user by matching the conversational input to an action at an enterprise software platform;
perform the action at the enterprise software platform to alter contents of the enterprise software platform in response to the chat-bot receiving the conversational input; and
