Foundation Garments for Use by Uniformed Personnel
Abstract
Undergarments to be worn beneath protective equipment are provided. The undergarments include a primary material comprising a wick away material, the primary material defining a wearable undergarment; a plurality of pockets comprising the wick away material, wherein the plurality of pockets are attached to the wearable undergarment at positions that will contact an area on the wearer identified as routinely being irritated by the protective equipment; and a plurality of removable spacers comprising a secondary material, different from the primary material. The plurality of removable spacers are inserted into and/or removed from corresponding ones of the plurality of pockets. The plurality of removable spacers create space between the undergarment and the wearer of the undergarment to allow airflow and reduce heat trapping.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A garment comprising:
a primary material comprising a wick away material, the primary material defining a wearable garment; at least one pocket comprising the wick away material attached to the primary material; and at least one spacer comprising a secondary material, different from the primary material, that creates a space between the garment and a wearer of the garment, the at least one spacer being positioned in the at least one pocket, allowing airflow and reducing heat trapping, wherein the at least one pocket is configured to stretch to receive the at least one spacer.
2 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the at least one spacer is a removable spacer that is inserted and/or removed from the at least one pocket.
3 . The garment of claim 2 , wherein the at least one removable spacer comprises a foam material.
4 . The garment of claim 3 , wherein the foam material comprises a latex material blend, wherein the latex material blend has both antimicrobial and antibacterial properties and is configured to allow the at least one spacer to conform to a body of the wearer without collapsing under weight of protective equipment worn thereon.
5 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the primary material comprises one of a composite blend of several textile components including Nylon, Polypropylene, Micromodal and/or ROICA, and HEMP.
6 . The garment of claim 5 , wherein the primary material of the garment applies a compressive force to a body of the wearer to reduce chafing, rubbing, and shifting during wear.
7 . The garment of claim 1 :
wherein the at least one spacer comprises a plurality of removable spacers and wherein the at least one pocket comprises a plurality of pockets, each of the plurality of pockets being configured to receive an associated one of the plurality of removable spacers; and wherein each of the plurality of pockets is strategically positioned to contact an area on the wearer identified as routinely being irritated by the protective equipment.
8 . The garment of claim 7 , wherein one of the plurality of pockets is positioned to align with a left and right Pectoral of the wearer; a left and right Obliquus of the wearer; a left and right Scapula of the wearer; a left and right Erector of the wearer; and a Plexus of the wearer.
9 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the garment has one of a leotard shape, a singlet shape and a shirt shape.
10 . The garment of claim 1 , further comprising a third material, different from the primary and secondary materials, wherein the third material is provided on edges and around openings in the garment.
11 . An undergarment to be worn beneath protective equipment, the undergarment comprising:
a primary material comprising a wick away material, the primary material defining a wearable undergarment; a plurality of pockets comprising the wick away material, wherein the plurality of pockets are attached to the wearable undergarment at positions that will contact an area on the wearer identified as routinely being irritated by the protective equipment; and a plurality of removable spacers comprising a secondary material, different from the primary material, wherein the plurality of removable spacers are inserted into and/or removed from corresponding ones of the plurality of pockets, wherein the plurality of removable spacers create space between the undergarment and the wearer of the undergarment to allow airflow and reduce heat trapping.
12 . The undergarment of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of pockets are configured to stretch to receive the corresponding plurality of removable spacers.
13 . The undergarment of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of removable spacers comprise a foam material.
14 . The undergarment of claim 13 , wherein the foam material comprises a latex material blend, wherein the latex material blend has both antimicrobial and antibacterial properties and is configured to allow the plurality of removable spacers to conform to a body of the wearer without collapsing under weight of protective equipment worn thereon.
15 . The undergarment of claim 11 , wherein the primary material comprises a composite blend of several textile components including Nylon, Polypropylene, Micromodal and/or ROICA.
16 . The undergarment of claim 15 , wherein the primary material of the undergarment applies a compressive force to a body of the wearer to reduce chafing, rubbing, and shifting during wear.
17 . The undergarment of claim 11 , wherein the primary material comprises HEMP.
18 . The undergarment of claim 11 , wherein one of the plurality of pockets is positioned to align with a left and right Pectoral of the wearer; a left and right Obliquus of the wearer; a left and right Scapula of the wearer; a left and right Erector of the wearer; and a Plexus of the wearer.
19 . The undergarment of claim 11 , wherein the undergarment has one of a leotard shape, a singlet shape and a shirt shape.
20 . The undergarment of claim 11 , further comprising a third material, different from the primary and secondary materials, wherein the third material is provided on edges and around openings in the undergarment.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
