Abstract
Garments including a sleeve and a cuff frame. The sleeve including a cuff and defining a sleeve opening configured to receive an arm, a wrist, and a hand of a wearer. The cuff frame being secured to the sleeve proximate the cuff and configured to support the sleeve opening from collapsing under compressive forces. The cuff frame defines a wrist opening sized to enable the hand and the wrist of the wearer to pass through the wrist opening.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A garment, comprising:
a sleeve including a cuff and defining a sleeve opening configured to receive an arm, a wrist, and a hand of a wearer; and a cuff frame secured to the sleeve proximate the cuff and configured to support the sleeve opening from collapsing under compressive forces; wherein the cuff frame defines a wrist opening sized to enable the hand and the wrist of the wearer to pass through the wrist opening.
2 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the cuff frame is secured to the sleeve within the sleeve opening.
3 . The garment of claim 2 , wherein the cuff frame is complementarily configured with the sleeve opening.
4 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the cuff frame is sewn onto the sleeve.
5 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the cuff frame extends along and is radially spaced from a longitudinal axis.
6 . The garment of claim 5 , wherein the cuff frame is radially spaced from the longitudinal axis the same distance along its entire length to define a ring.
7 . The garment of claim 5 , wherein the cuff frame defines:
a wrist portion radially spaced from the longitudinal axis at a first distance to define the wrist opening; a hand portion longitudinally adjacent to the wrist portion and flaring outwards from the wrist portion; and an arm portion longitudinally adjacent to the wrist portion opposite the hand portion, the arm portion flaring outwards from the wrist portion.
8 . The garment of claim 7 , wherein:
the hand portion is radially spaced from the longitudinal axis a second distance greater than the first distance to define a hand opening; and the second distance is selected to enable the hand of the wearer to tilt relative to the wrist of the wearer within the hand opening.
9 . The garment of claim 7 , wherein:
the arm portion is radially spaced from the longitudinal axis a third distance greater than the first distance to define an arm opening; and the third distance is selected to accommodate the arm of the wearer within the arm opening.
10 . The garment of claim 9 , wherein:
the arm portion flaring outwards from the first distance to the third distance defines a transition portion; and the arm portion includes a sleeve portion radially spaced from the longitudinal axis by the third distance and extending from the transition portion along the longitudinal axis.
11 . The garment of claim 10 , wherein the sleeve portion is less flexible than the wrist portion.
12 . The garment of claim 7 , wherein the hand portion includes a lip distal the wrist portion.
13 . The garment of claim 12 , wherein the lip is less flexible than the wrist portion.
14 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the wall is comprised of a polymer.
15 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the cuff frame defines longitudinal openings.
16 . The garment of claim 15 , wherein the longitudinal openings extend over a majority of the length of the cuff frame.
17 . The garment of claim 16 , wherein the longitudinal openings are configured to allow the cuff frame to flex.
18 . The garment of claim 1 , further comprising a torso portion coupled to the sleeve and legs extending from the torso portion.
19 . The garment of claim 1 , wherein the garment defines a protective suit.
20 . A garment defining a protective suit, comprising:
a torso portion; two sleeves coupled to the torso portion, the sleeves each including a cuff and defining a sleeve opening configured to receive an arm, a wrist, and a hand of a wearer; and a cuff frame complementarily configured with the sleeve opening and secured to the sleeve within the sleeve opening proximate the cuff and configured to support the sleeve opening from collapsing under compressive forces; wherein the cuff frame extends along and is radially spaced from a longitudinal axis to define a wrist opening sized to enable the hand and the wrist of the wearer to pass through the wrist opening.Cited by (0)
