Abstract
A road marker disclosed herein includes a single piece of material having a width of approximately three inches or less. The piece includes a top surface, a bottom surface, and a sloped face disposed between the top surface and the bottom surface. The bottom surface is configured to enable the bottom surface to be connected directly to a floor of a channel of a roadway. The road marker further includes a reflector disposed on the sloped face. Another road marker disclosed herein includes a reflecting member including a reflective surface. The road marker also includes a housing configured to support at least a portion of the reflecting member below a surface of a roadway.

1 . A method, comprising:
inserting a portion of a tool within a space between a floor of a channel in a roadway and a portion of a first road marker installed in the channel, the first road marker including a base connected directly to the floor of the channel, the base including a sloped face and a reflector disposed on the sloped face; and operating the tool to dislodge the first road marker from the channel.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein inserting the portion of the tool within the space comprises inserting a tip of a chipping hammer into a notch of a bottom side of the base.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the base is a single piece of material having a width of approximately three inches or less.
4 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising connecting a second road marker directly to the floor of the channel in place of the first road marker.
5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein connecting the second road marker directly to the floor of the channel in place of the first road marker comprises connecting a second base of the second road marker directly to the floor of the channel, the second base including a second sloped face and a second reflector disposed on the second sloped face.
