Abstract

Viscous liquid rubber compositions are applied to articles by brushing, rolling, pouring, or dipping to repair leaks or to modify the appearance and/or physical properties of the article, such as water-permeability, thermal insulation, shock resistance, vibration resistance, electrical insulation, and the like.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed:

1 . A method of waterproofing an article, the method comprising:
applying a viscous liquid rubber composition to at least a portion of a surface of the article, wherein the article is a boat hull formed at least partially of wire mesh.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the viscous liquid rubber composition is applied by brushing.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the viscous liquid rubber composition is applied by rolling.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the viscous liquid rubber composition is applied by pouring.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the viscous liquid rubber composition is applied by dipping.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the composition is applied to the wire mesh.

7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the wire mesh is supported by a metal frame.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the viscous liquid rubber composition is allowed to cure.

9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the boat is operated in water.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the boat is an airboat.

11 . A method of waterproofing a boat, the method comprising:
applying a liquid rubber composition to at least a portion of a hull of the boat, wherein the hull is formed at least partially of wire mesh, and wherein the composition is applied to at least a portion of the wire mesh.

12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the boat is an airboat.

13 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the wire mesh is supported by a metal frame.

14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the viscous liquid rubber composition is applied by brushing.

15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the viscous liquid rubber composition is applied by rolling.

16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the viscous liquid rubber composition is applied by pouring.

17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the viscous liquid rubber composition is applied by dipping.

18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the viscous liquid rubber composition is allowed to cure.

19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the boat is operated in water.

20 . A method of waterproofing an article, the method comprising:
applying a liquid rubber composition to at least a portion of the article, wherein the article is an airboat comprising a hull formed at least partially of wire mesh, and wherein the composition is applied to at least a portion the wire mesh by rolling.
