Abstract
A disclosed vertical planter box assembly includes perimeter walls defining an interior space for holding plants. The perimeter wall includes openings aligned around the interior space. A water basin is provided at a top side for communicating water into the interior space. A drip tray is supported below a bottom side for capturing draining water from the interior space. A plurality of pins extend through the openings and across the interior space to hold the plant structures in place within the interior space.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A vertical planter box assembly comprising:
a top, a bottom; a back, and sides defining an interior cavity with a forward facing opening for receiving plants; a first group of pins extends through openings in the top across the interior cavity; and a second group of pins extends through openings in one side across the interior cavity, wherein the first group pins and the second group of support plants installed within the interior cavity.
2 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 1 , wherein the separate pins are interwoven with each other across the interior cavity.
3 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 1 , wherein the top includes a water basin and watering holes open to the interior cavity.
4 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 3 , wherein the water basin comprises a channel with walls surrounding a perimeter of the water basin.
5 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 4 , wherein the bottom includes drainage openings and a drip tray is supported below the bottom for catching moisture draining through the drainage openings.
6 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 5 , including a channel integrated into the bottom surface and the drip tray is supported within the channel.
7 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 5 , including a support rod supported across the sides for supporting the drip tray below the bottom.
8 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first group of pins and at least one of the second group of pins include a head on one side.
9 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 1 , including a front flange extending outward about a perimeter of the interior cavity for attachment of decorative boarder.
10 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 9 , including a decorative boarder attached to the front flange, the decorative boarder formed from a material different than the vertical planter box assembly.
11 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 1 , wherein the top, bottom and sides are formed from plastic.
12 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 1 , wherein the top, bottom and sides comprise an integral one piece part.
13 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 1 , wherein the top, bottom and sides comprise multiple attached parts.
14 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 1 , wherein the back includes an opening for hanging the vertical planter box in a vertical orientation.
15 . The vertical planter box assembly as recited in claim 1 , including a stand attachable to the back for holding the planter box in a substantially vertical orientation on a horizontal surface.
16 . A method of preparing a decorative plant display for hanging on a wall comprising;
arranging a plurality of plant structures within an interior space of a planter box, wherein the planter box includes a perimeter wall including a plurality of openings; and inserting a first group of pins through openings in the top across the interior cavity and over or through the plant structures; and inserting a second group of pins through openings in one side across the interior cavity over or through the plant structures.
17 . The method as recited in claim 16 , including attaching a drip tray to a bottom portion of the planter box to catch moisture draining from the interior space.
18 . The method as recited in claim 17 , including attaching a stand to a back of the planter box for supporting the planter box in an upright manner on a horizontal surface.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
