Tandem hammock system and method

Abstract

A tandem hammock assembly having a plurality of hammocks coupled to one another by at least two straps, each of the at least two straps being fastened to respective ends of the plurality of hammocks; and at least two elongate bars each having two fastening elements on respective ends, the fastening elements being adapted to detachably fasten to respective ones of the at least two straps and the at least two strap each being adapted to be detachably fixed to a respective anchoring structure.

1 . A tandem hammock assembly, comprising:
 a plurality of hammocks coupled to one another by at least two straps, each of the at least two straps being fastened to respective ends of the plurality of hammocks;   each of the at least two straps comprising a plurality of evenly spaced apart strap loops along a length of each strap and the at least two straps adapted to be detachably fixed to a respective anchoring structure and each of the at least two straps detachably fastened to one of the respective ends of the plurality of hammocks by forming a loop through a hammock end loop on the one of the respective ends of the plurality of hammocks and detachably fastening two adjacent ones of the plurality of strap loops together; and   at least two elongate bars each comprising two fastening elements on respective ends having loop hook and gate closures, the fastening elements being adapted to detachably fasten to respective ones of the at least two straps.   
     
     
         2 . The tandem hammock assembly of  claim 1 , further comprising the fastening elements having carabiner shaped loop hook and gate structures. 
     
     
         3 . The tandem hammock assembly of  claim 1 , further comprising the loop hook and gate structures formed by an integrated loop of resilient polymeric material. 
     
     
         4 . The tandem hammock assembly of  claim 3 , further comprising the loop hook and gate structures of resilient polymeric material having an opening. 
     
     
         5 . The tandem hammock assembly of  claim 1 , further comprising the at least two elongate bars incorporating respective curved ends meeting to form closures. 
     
     
         6 . The tandem hammock assembly of  claim 5 , further comprising closures requiring force to temporarily open. 
     
     
         7 . The tandem hammock assembly of  claim 1 , further comprising the at least two elongate bars having a cylindrical shape. 
     
     
         8 . The tandem hammock assembly of  claim 1 , further comprising the at least two elongate bars having a substantially prism shape. 
     
     
         9 . A tandem hammock assembly, comprising:
 a plurality of hammocks coupled to one another by straps, the straps fastened to respective ends of the plurality of hammocks; and   at least two elongate bars comprising detachable fastening elements adapted to detachably fasten to the straps, the straps detachably fixed to a respective anchoring structure and incorporating evenly spaced strap loops along a length of the strap.   
     
     
         10 . The tandem hammock assembly of  claim 9 , further comprising at least one additional elongate bar having a different length than the at least two elongate bars. 
     
     
         11 . The tandem hammock assembly of  claim 10 , further comprising at least one additional hammock. 
     
     
         12 . The tandem hammock assembly of  claim 9 , further comprising the elongate bars formed of a metal. 
     
     
         13 . The tandem hammock assembly of  claim 9 , further comprising the elongate bars formed of a polymeric material. 
     
     
         14 . An apparatus, comprising:
 means for extending tandem hammock segments into tandem hammock bars;   means for attaching hammock suspension straps to supports, loop straps through respective loops, securing the loop straps; and   means for securing the tandem hammock bars to the loops of the hammock suspension straps.   
     
     
         15 . The apparatus of  claim 14 , further comprising means for securing hammock suspension straps through respective loops. 
     
     
         16 . The apparatus of  claim 15 , further comprising means for securing the tandem hammocks at a fixed distance relative to one another. 
     
     
         17 . The apparatus of  claim 15 , further comprising means for fixing the tandem hammock bars through loops adjacent to the respective loops. 
     
     
         18 . The apparatus of  claim 14 , further comprising means for fastening at least two hammocks to a suspension strap. 
     
     
         19 . The apparatus of  claim 18 , further comprising means for fastening adjacent loops on hammock suspension straps. 
     
     
         20 . The apparatus of  claim 14 , further comprising means for securing fastening tandem hammock bars to straps.
