Film laminator for cell phones

Abstract

According to the utility model, there is provided a film laminator for cell phones, useful for film lamination on a surface of a cell phone, including: a cell phone fixing plate, on which a through hole for receiving the cell phone is established, and a top surface of which is a horizontal face; with at least one position limiting plate for abutting the cell phone within the through hole being also fixed on the top surface. The film laminator for cell phones further includes: a film laminating plate for fixing a cell phone film; one end of which is hinged to the cell phone fixing plate, and the other end of which is movable freely so that the film laminating plate is bonded with the top surface of the cell phone fixing plate. With respect to the film laminator for cell phones according to the utility model, because the position limiting plate is provided on the cell phone fixing plate, the surface of the cell phone to which a film is to be attached can handily be kept in flush with the top surface of the cell phone fixing plate. Upon film lamination, the film laminating plate can contact with the top surface of the cell phone fixing plate and the surface of the cell phone to which a film is to be attached at the same time, so that the stress that is laid on it in the course of film lamination is very even, and a good effect of film lamination is obtained.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An apparatus for applying protective film to a screen of a portable electronic device having a defined shape, comprising:
 a fixing plate having a horizontal top surface and a hole in the horizontal top surface accommodating the shape of the portable electronic device;   sidewalls depending from the edges of the hole;   a protective film assembly; and   a hinge affixed to the fixing plate and to a portion of said protective film assembly.   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising a position limiting plate disposed in at least one corner of the hole. 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the hinge is affixed to an edge of the fixing plate. 
     
     
         4 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the hinge is affixed to a side of the fixing plate. 
     
     
         5 . A method of producing an apparatus for applying protective film to a screen of a portable electronic device with a defined shape, comprising the steps of:
 forming a fixing plate having a top horizontal surface, and a hole in the top horizontal surface accommodating the shape of the portable electronic device, the hole having sidewalls depending from the top horizontal surface;   forming a protective film assembly; and   joining said protective film assembly and said fixing plate using a hinge having a first end and a second end, wherein said first end of said hinge is bonded to one end of said protective film assembly and said second end of said hinge is affixed to the fixing plate.   
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 5 , comprising the additional step of: placing position limiting plates in at least one corner of the hole. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the hinge is affixed to an edge of the fixing plate. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the hinge is affixed to a side of the fixing plate. 
     
     
         9 . A protective film applicator for use with a portable electronic device having a defined shape, said protective film applicator comprising:
 a fixing plate having a hole corresponding to the defined shape of said portable electronic device;   a sidewall depending from the edge of the hole for a distance corresponding to a thickness of said portable electronic device;   a protective film assembly; and   a hinge having a first end and a second end, the first end being removably affixed to the protective film assembly, the second end being affixed to the fixing plate.   
     
     
         10 . The applicator of  claim 9 , wherein the hole is substantially rectilinear, further comprising a position limiting plate disposed in at least one corner of the hole. 
     
     
         11 . The applicator of  claim 9 , wherein the hinge is affixed to an edge of the fixing plate. 
     
     
         12 . The applicator of  claim 9 , wherein the hinge is attached to a side of the fixing plate.
