Abstract
Combinations of anti-cancer antibodies and inhibitory antibodies to CD223 overcome immune suppression in cancer patients. The inhibitory antibodies may be generated in an animal by injection of fragments of CD223. Antibodies may be monoclonal antibodies or single chain antibodies or humanized antibodies.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for treating a mammal with a cancer, comprising:
administering to the mammal a first antibody which specifically binds to CD223 protein and inhibits negative T cell regulatory function of CD223; and administering to the mammal a second antibody which is an anti-cancer antibody.
2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the mammal is a human cancer patient.
3 . The method of claim 1 wherein the first antibody is a monoclonal antibody.
4 . The method of claim 1 wherein an amount of the first antibody is administered sufficient to increase the number of T cells in the mammal.
