Abstract
A two component sprayable adhesive and system for spraying is provided. The two component adhesive may have an adhesive, and an activator. These components are mixed after spraying, either in the air or on a substrate. The activator destabilizes the adhesive making it more tacky and effective. In at least one of the two components, an additive is provided to provide a visual indication that the components are mixed and/or properly mixed in the intended ratio.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A sprayable activator operable to destabilize a sprayable adhesive comprising an additive selected to provide a visual indication when the activator is mixed with an adhesive.
2 . The sprayable activator of claim 1 wherein the additive is a pH indicator.
3 . The sprayable activator of claim 2 wherein the pH indicator is selected to provide a visual indication when a pH is raised.
4 . The sprayable activator of claim 2 wherein the pH indicator is selected to provide one color to the activator at a first pH, and to provide another different color at a second, different pH.
5 . The sprayable activator of claim 1 wherein the additive is selected to provide the visual indication when the activator is mixed with an alkaline sprayable adhesive.
6 . The sprayable activator of claim 1 wherein the additive is configured to provide the visual indication when the adhesive is mixed with the activator in a ratio of adhesive to activator of 5:1+/−20%.
7 . The sprayable activator of claim 1 wherein the visual indication is present when the activator is mixed with the adhesive in a correct ratio.
8 . The sprayable activator of claim 1 wherein the additive is a foaming agent.
9 . The sprayable activator of claim 1 wherein the additive has a concentration in the activator ranging from 0.001% to 1%.
10 . The sprayable activator of claim 1 wherein the activator is a water based activator.Cited by (0)
