Devices, Methods and Systems for Wireless Control of Medical Devices

Abstract

A medical device system is disclosed. The medical device system includes a first medical device and a second medical device. A remote interface including a touch screen is also included. The remote interface is in wireless communication with the first medical device and the second medical device. The remote interface is configured to provide a user interface to the first medical device and the second medical device. The remote interface is configured to receive user input through a touch screen. Also, a charging device is included. The charging device is configured to receive at least the first medical device and the remote interface and the charging device is configured to recharge a first medical device battery and the charging device is configured to recharge an interface battery in the remote interface. The charging device is connected to a personal computer wherein the personal computer provides information to the remote interface.

         25 . A medical device system comprising:
 a computer;   an infusion pump;   a measurement device for measuring blood glucose and generating blood glucose readings; and   a remote interface comprising a touch screen, the remote interface in wireless communication with the infusion pump and the measurement device, the remote interface configured to provide a user interface to the infusion pump and to receive blood glucose readings from the measurement device,   wherein the remote interface configured to receive user input through a touch screen, and   wherein the remote interface communicates to the computer through an internet connection.   
     
     
         26 . The medical device system of  claim 25  wherein the remote interface communicates to the measurement device through the infusion pump. 
     
     
         27 . The medical device system of  claim 25  wherein the infusion pump further comprising a disposable portion and a reusable portion. 
     
     
         28 . The medical device system of  claim 27  wherein a charging device configured to receive the portion of the infusion pump. 
     
     
         29 . The system of  claim 25  wherein the remote interface communicates directly to the measurement device. 
     
     
         30 . The system of  claim 25  further comprising a third medical device in wireless communication with the infusion pump, wherein the remote interface communicates to the third medical device through the infusion pump. 
     
     
         31 . The system of  claim 30  wherein the remote interface configured to provide a user interface to the third medical device. 
     
     
         32 . The system of  claim 31  wherein the third medical device is at least one blood glucose meter. 
     
     
         33 . The system of  claim 25  further comprising a third medical device in direct wireless communication with the remote interface. 
     
     
         34 . The system of  claim 25  wherein the infusion pump and the remote interface are paired using near field communication. 
     
     
         35 . The system of  claim 33  wherein the remote interface configured to provide a user interface to the third medical device. 
     
     
         36 . A medical device system comprising:
 a computer;   a wearable first medical device for measuring the glucose level of a user;   a wearable second medical device for infusing a medicant to the user; and   a remote interface comprising a touch screen, the remote interface in wireless communication with the first medical device and the second medical device, the remote interface configured to provide a user interface to the first medical device,   wherein the remote interface configured to receive user input through a touch screen, and wherein the remote interface communicates with the computer by uploading information from the first and second medical device to the internet and the computer downloading the information from the internet.   
     
     
         37 . The medical device system of  claim 36  wherein the remote interface communicates to the measurement device through the infusion pump. 
     
     
         38 . The medical device system of  claim 36  wherein the infusion pump further comprising a disposable portion and a reusable portion. 
     
     
         39 . The medical device system of  claim 38  wherein a charging device configured to receive the portion of the infusion pump. 
     
     
         40 . The system of  claim 36  wherein the remote interface communicates directly to the measurement device. 
     
     
         41 . The system of  claim 36  further comprising a third medical device in wireless communication with the infusion pump, wherein the remote interface communicates to the third medical device through the infusion pump. 
     
     
         42 . The system of  claim 41  wherein the remote interface configured to provide a user interface to the third medical device. 
     
     
         43 . The system of  claim 42  wherein the third medical device is at least one blood glucose meter. 
     
     
         44 . The system of  claim 36  further comprising a third medical device in direct wireless communication with the remote interface. 
     
     
         45 . The system of  claim 36  wherein the infusion pump and the remote interface are paired using near field communication.
