Display device and control method therefor

Abstract

An example display device includes a communicator configured to communicate with an external apparatus that operates for a workout of a user; a display configured to display an image; and a controller configured to determine workout conditions of the user, and control the communicator to transmit a control signal to the external apparatus so that the display can display a corresponding image and the external apparatus can change the operation in accordance with the determined workout conditions of the user.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An electronic device comprising:
 a communicator configured to communicate with a plurality types of external apparatuses operable for a workout of a user;   a display;   a user input unit;   a memory configured to store a program; and   a processor, by executing the program stored in the memory, being configured to:   control the display to display a user interface comprising a plurality of menu items corresponding to the plurality types of external apparatuses,   based on receiving a user input for selecting a menu item from among the plurality of menu items through the UI, control the display to display an image corresponding to a type of an external apparatus of the selected menu item,   identify an operation speed of the external apparatus,   control the display to display the image being varied according to the identified operation speed of the external apparatus.   
     
     
         2 . The electronic device according to  claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to control the display to display the UI based on an application being executed. 
     
     
         3 . The electronic device according to  claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to:
 control the display to display a second UI comprising a second plurality of menu items corresponding to a plurality of levels related with the operation speed of the external apparatus, and   based on receiving the user input for selecting a second menu item from among the second plurality of menu items through the second UI, control the display to display a second image corresponding to the level of the selected second menu item.   
     
     
         4 . The electronic device according to  claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to:
 control the display to display a third UI comprising a third menu items corresponding to a plurality of information on the user, and   based on receiving the user input for selecting a third menu item from among the third plurality of menu items through the third UI, control the display to display a third image corresponding to the information of the user of the selected third menu item.   
     
     
         5 . The electronic device according to  claim 4 , wherein the plurality of information on the user comprising information on genders, ages, abilities, medical history and health conditions of the user. 
     
     
         6 . The electronic device according to  claim 4 , wherein the processor is configured to, based on the operation speed of the external apparatus exceeding a threshold corresponding to the information of the user, control the communicator to transmit a control signal to the external apparatus to decrease the operation speed of the external apparatus. 
     
     
         7 . The electronic device according to  claim 4 , wherein the processor is configured to, based on the operation speed of the external apparatus exceeding a threshold corresponding to the information of the user, control the display to display a warning message. 
     
     
         8 . The electronic device according to  claim 1 , wherein the processor is configured to:
 identify an operation time of the external apparatus, and   control the display to display the image being varied according to the identified operation time of the external apparatus.   
     
     
         9 . A control method of an electronic device comprising:
 displaying a user interface comprising a plurality of menu items corresponding to the plurality types of external apparatuses;   based on receiving a user input for selecting a menu item from among the plurality of menu items through the UI, displaying an image corresponding to a type of an external apparatus of the selected menu item;   identifying an operation speed of the external apparatus; and   displaying the image being varied according to the identified operation speed of the external apparatus.   
     
     
         10 . The control method according to  claim 9 , wherein the displaying the UI comprises displaying the UI based on an application being executed. 
     
     
         11 . The control method according to  claim 9 , wherein the displaying the UI comprises:
 displaying a second UI comprising a second plurality of menu items corresponding to a plurality of levels related with the operation speed of the external apparatus, and   based on receiving the user input for selecting a second menu item from among the second plurality of menu items through the second UI, displaying a second image corresponding to the level of the selected second menu item.   
     
     
         12 . The control method according to  claim 9 , wherein the displaying the UI comprises:
 displaying a third UI comprising a third menu items corresponding to a plurality of information on the user, and   based on receiving the user input for selecting a third menu item from among the third plurality of menu items through the third UI, displaying a third image corresponding to the information of the user of the selected third menu item.   
     
     
         13 . The control method according to  claim 12 , wherein the plurality of information on the user comprising information on genders, ages, abilities, medical history and health conditions of the user. 
     
     
         14 . The control method according to  claim 12 , further comprises, based on the operation speed of the external apparatus exceeding a threshold corresponding to the information of the user, transmitting a control signal to the external apparatus to decrease the operation speed of the external apparatus. 
     
     
         15 . The control method according to  claim 12 , further comprises based on the operation speed of the external apparatus exceeding a threshold corresponding to the information of the user, displaying a warning message. 
     
     
         16 . The control method according to  claim 12 , further comprises:
 identifying an operation time of the external apparatus; and   displaying the image being varied according to the identified operation time of the external apparatus.
