Mobile Device Management System
Abstract
A mobile device management system including a method for monitoring a remote video camera and event scheduling, synchronization and modification using location information. Video from a remote camera is encoded by a computer and streamed in real time over a network to a mobile device for decoding and display. The computer encoder and mobile device decoder are software-based. Event calendar and schedule information is incorporated, shared and automatically updated among multiple mobile devices. Location information, such as from a locator network or a satellite-based global positioning system, is used to provide real time updates to a mobile device calendar of event schedule. A map or other indicia of the location of other mobile devices may be provided.

23 . A method of determining the location of a mobile device, including:
employing a first device having a known location to communicate with the mobile device via a first local wireless signal; and determining a first location of the mobile device based on the first local wireless signal communicated with the first device.
24 . The method of determining the location of mobile device according to claim 23 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a short-range wireless signal.
25 . The method of determining the location of mobile device according to claim 23 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a short-range wireless signal.
26 . The method of determining the location of mobile device according to claim 25 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a wireless LAN signal.
27 . The method of determining the location of mobile device according to claim 25 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a Bluetooth signal.
28 . The method of determining the location of mobile device according to claim 23 , further including:
employing a second device having a known location different than the first device to communicate with the mobile device via a second local wireless signal; and determining a second location of the mobile device based on second local wireless signal communicated with the first device.
29 . The method of determining the location of mobile device according to claim 28 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a short-range wireless signal.
30 . The method of determining the location of mobile device according to claim 28 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a short-range wireless signal.
31 . The method of determining the location of mobile device according to claim 30 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a wireless LAN signal.
32 . The method of determining the location of mobile device according to claim 30 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a Bluetooth signal.
33 . A system for determining the location of a mobile device, including:
a first device having a known location and capable of communicating with the mobile device via a first local wireless signal and a network device via another signal; and a network device capable of communicating with the first device via the other signal and determining the location of the mobile device based on the first signal from the first device.
34 . The system for determining the location of mobile device according to claim 33 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a short-range wireless signal.
35 . The system for determining the location of mobile device according to claim 33 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a short-range wireless signal.
36 . The system for determining the location of mobile device according to claim 35 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a wireless LAN signal.
37 . The system for determining the location of mobile device according to claim 35 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a Bluetooth signal.
38 . The system for determining the location of mobile device according to claim 33 , further including a second device having a known location and capable of communicating with the mobile device via a second local wireless signal and the network device via another signal,
wherein the network device is further capable of communicating with the second device via the other signal and determining the location of the mobile device based on the second signal from the second device.
39 . The system for determining the location of mobile device according to claim 38 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a short-range wireless signal.
40 . The system for determining the location of mobile device according to claim 38 , wherein the first local wireless signal is a short-range wireless signal.
