Abstract
The present disclosure relates to methods of administering [18F]-FACBC, The present disclosure also relates to use of [18F]-FACBC in methods for imaging, diagnosing and monitoring metastasis or recurrence of cancer.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 18 . (canceled)
19 . A method of monitoring metastatic or recurrent prostate cancer in a subject, the method comprising the steps of:
a) administering to the subject a first dose of anti-1-amino-3- 18 F-fluorocyclobutane-1-carboxylic acid ([ 18 F]-FACBC); b) acquiring a first positron emission tomography (PET) scan image of a pelvic region of the subject; c) administering to the subject a second dose of [ 18 F]-FACBC; d) acquiring a second PET scan image of the pelvic region of the subject; wherein the first and the second PET scan images indicate respective first and second locations and intensities of [ 18 F]-FACBC, and localisation of [ 18 F]-FACBC indicates the presence of tumour tissue in the subject; and e) comparing the first and second PET scan images to determine whether the intensity of [ 18 F]-FACBC has increased, remained constant, or decreased, thereby monitoring metastatic or recurrent cancer in the subject.
20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein each of steps b) and d) further comprises acquiring a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan image of the pelvic region of the subject.
21 . The method of claim 20 , wherein the PET and MM scan images are obtained using a combined PET-MRI system.
22 . The method of claim 19 , wherein each of steps b) and d) further comprises acquiring an X-ray computed tomography (CT) scan image of the pelvic region of the subject.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the PET and CT scan images are obtained using a combined PET-CT system.
24 . The method of claim 19 , wherein acquiring each of the first PET scan image and the second PET scan image is performed in at least 4 bed positions according to the following parameters:
scanning starts 3 to 5 minutes after injection of [ 18 F]-FACBC into the subject; scanning occurs in a direction of feet to head of the subject; for the first 2 or 3 bed positions, the scanning time per bed position is 4 to 5 minutes; and for the subsequent bed positions, the scanning time per bed position is 2 to 3 minutes.
25 . The method of claim 24 , wherein scanning for acquiring each of the first PET scan image and the second PET scan image starts at a proximal thigh of the subject.
26 . The method of claim 19 , wherein scanning for acquiring each of the first PET scan image and the second PET scan image is completed between 3 to 30 minutes after injection of the [ 18 F]-FACBC into the subject.
27 . The method of claim 19 , wherein step d) is carried out between one month to one year after step b) is completed.
28 . The method of claim 19 , wherein acquiring each of the first PET scan image and the second PET scan image starts 4 minutes after the [ 18 F]-FACBC is injected into the subject.
29 . The method of claim 19 , wherein each of the first dose and the second dose of [ 18 F]-FACBC is injected into the subject over a time period of about 1 to 2 minutes.
30 . The method of claim 19 , wherein each of the first dose and the second dose of [ 18 F]-FACBC is injected into the subject over a time period of 1 minute.
31 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the subject has both arms in an overhead position during scanning for acquiring each of the first PET scan image and the second PET scan image.
32 . The method of claim 19 , wherein each of the first dose and the second dose of [ 18 F]-FACBC is between 250 MBq and 500 MBq.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
