Capturing and Managing Web Page Content Items
Abstract
Disclosed is a configuration to capture content objects contained within a web page. The configuration receives a content object via a user account, the web browser to retrieve the web page, the web page having a content object, the content object having information visibly perceptible through the web page and metadata corresponding to a hyperlink and assigns a unique identifier to the content object. The configuration determines whether the content object is pre-existing in a computing storage of the management system. The configuration then stores the content object if the content object is not pre-existing in the management system or creates an association between the content object that is pre-existing in the management system and the assigned unique identifier. The configuration allows for access, by a third party, to the content object in the management system.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A computer-implemented method for capturing content objects contained within a web page, the content objects associated with a content provider and displayable through a web browser on a computing screen, the method comprising:
retrieving the web page through the web browser, the web browser having a plug-in component, the web page having a content object, the content object having information visibly perceptible through the web page and metadata corresponding to a hyperlink; capturing, through the plug-in component, the content object; transmitting the content object to a private space in a computing storage of a management system, the management system assigning a unique identifier to the content object; and providing to a third-party the unique identifier to access the content object in a user account space in the computing storage of the management system.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the visually perceptible information is an advertisement.
3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the hyperlink comprises an universal resource locator address that directs the web browser towards an advertiser web page associated with the advertisement.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the content object is at least one of text, image, and video.
5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising assigning the content object into a category.
6 . The method of claim 2 , further comprising selecting, subsequently, the hyperlink of the stored content object in the management system to transmit a request to the content provider, the content provider associated with the advertisement.
7 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising stored instructions to capture content objects contained within a web page, the content objects associated with a content provider and displayable through a web browser on a computing screen, the instructions when executed cause a processor to:
retrieve the web page through the web browser, the web page having a content object, the content object having information visibly perceptible through the web page and metadata corresponding to a hyperlink; capture, via the web page, the content object; transmit the content object to a private space in a computing storage of a management system, the management system assigning a unique identifier to the content object; and provide to a third-party the unique identifier to access the content object in a user account space in the computing storage of the management system.
8 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein the visually perceptible information is an advertisement.
9 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 8 , wherein the hyperlink comprises an universal resource locator address that directs the web browser towards an advertiser web page associated with the advertisement.
10 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 7 , wherein the content object is at least one of text, image, and video.
11 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 7 , further comprising further stored instructions that when executed cause a processor to assign the content object into a category.
12 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 8 , further comprising further stored instructions that when executed cause the processor to select, subsequently, the hyperlink of the stored content object in the management system to transmit a request to the content provider associated with the advertisement.
13 . A computer-implemented method for managing storage of content objects contained within a web page, the content objects associated with a content provider and displayable through a web browser on a computing screen, the method comprising:
receiving a content object through a plug in component having an association with a user account, the plug-in component having been installed with a web browser, the web browser to retrieve the web page, the web page having a content object, the content object having information visibly perceptible through the web page and metadata corresponding to a hyperlink; receiving, through the plug-in component, the content object at a management system; assigning a unique identifier to the content object; determining whether the content object is pre-existing in a computing storage of the management system; responsive to the determination, either
storing the content object if the content object is not pre-existing in the management system, or
creating an association between the content object that is pre-existing in the management system and the assigned unique identifier;
providing access, by a third party, to the content object in the management system.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the visually perceptible information is an advertisement.
15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the content object is at least one of text, image, and video.
16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the hyperlink comprises an universal resource locator address that directs the web browser towards an advertiser web page associated with the advertisement.
17 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising transmitting information corresponding to the content object to an advertiser associated with the advertisement.
18 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising assigning a privacy shield to an identity associated with the user account from the third party provided access to the content object.
19 . A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising stored instructions to manage storage of content objects contained within a web page, the content objects associated with a content provider and displayable through a web browser on a computing screen, the instructions when executed cause the processor to:
receive a content object via a user account, the web browser to retrieve the web page, the web page having a content object, the content object having information visibly perceptible through the web page and metadata corresponding to a hyperlink; assign a unique identifier to the content object; determine whether the content object is pre-existing in a computing storage of the management system; responsive to the determination, either
store the content object if the content object is not pre-existing in the management system, or
create an association between the content object that is pre-existing in the management system and the assigned unique identifier;
provide access, by a third party, to the content object in the management system.
20 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 19 , wherein the visually perceptible information is an advertisement.
21 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 19 , wherein the content object is at least one of text, image, and video.
22 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 20 , wherein the hyperlink comprises a universal resource locator address that directs the web browser towards an advertiser web page associated with the advertisement.
23 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 20 , further comprising stored instructions that when executed cause the processor to transmit information corresponding to the content object to an advertiser associated with the advertisement.
24 . The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 19 , further comprising stored instructions that when executed cause the processor to assign a privacy shield to an identity associated with the user account from the third party provided access to the content object.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
