Abstract
Disclosed herein are methods of treating acute kidney injury. The method can include administering a sufficient amount of a DNA origami nanostructure to a subject afflicted with AKI to increase an excretory function of said subject. In some examples, the the DNA origami nanostructure includes a scaffold strand and a plurality of staple strands, in which the scaffold strand comprises a M13 viral genome having a length of 7249 base pairs; and each staple strand of the plurality of staple strands has a length of about 20 to 60 base pairs.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 17 . (canceled)
18 . A method of treating acute kidney injury (AKI), the method comprising intravenously administering an effective amount of a DNA origami nanostructure to a subject afflicted with AKI to increase an excretory function of the subject.
19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the DNA origami nanostructure comprises a scaffold strand and a plurality of staple strands, wherein:
the scaffold strand comprises a M13 viral genome having a length of 7249 base pairs; and each staple strand of the plurality of staple strands has a length of about 20 to 60 base pairs.
20 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the effective amount of the DNA origami nanostructure is about 0.4 to 0.5 mg/kg.
21 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the DNA origami nanostructure is labeled.
22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the DNA origami nanostructure comprises a radioisotope, fluorophore, photon-emitting molecule, and/or positron emission tomography (PET) isotope.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the radioisotope is copper-64 ( 64 Cu).
24 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the fluorophore is Cy3 or Cy5.
25 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the photon-emitting molecule is photon-emitting Tc-99m.
26 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the PET isotope is Zr-89.
27 . A method of treating acute kidney injury (AKI), the method comprising administering an effective amount of a DNA origami nanostructure to a subject afflicted with AKI to increase an excretory function of the subject, wherein the effective amount administered is sufficient to reduce damaged tubulars and glomerulus structures in the kidney of the subject.
28 . The method of claim 27 , wherein the DNA origami nanostructure comprises a scaffold strand and a plurality of staple strands, wherein:
the scaffold strand comprises a M13 viral genome having a length of 7249 base pairs; and each staple strand of the plurality of staple strands has a length of about 20 to 60 base pairs.
29 . The method of claim 27 , wherein the effective amount of the DNA origami nanostructure is about 0.4 to 0.5 mg/kg.
30 . The method of claim 27 , wherein the DNA origami nanostructure is labeled.
31 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the DNA origami nanostructure comprises a radioisotope, fluorophore, photon-emitting molecule, and/or positron emission tomography (PET) isotope.
32 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the radioisotope is copper-64 ( 64 Cu).
33 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the fluorophore is Cy3 or Cy5.
34 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the photon-emitting molecule is photon-emitting Tc-99m.
35 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the PET isotope is Zr-89.
36 . A method of treating acute kidney injury (AKI) in a subject, the method comprising intravenously administering a DNA origami nanostructure to the subject in an amount sufficient to treat AKI.
37 . The method of claim 36 , wherein the DNA origami nanostructure comprises a scaffold strand and a plurality of staple strands, wherein:
the scaffold strand comprises a M13 viral genome having a length of 7249 base pairs; and each staple strand of the plurality of staple strands has a length of about 20 to 60 base pairs.Cited by (0)
