Abstract

A method and system is disclosed for populating a local second line service (“SLS”) database in a telecommunications device (“TD”). The local SLS database is for use by an SLS application that provides a second line service to the user of the TD. To populate the local SLS database, historical data associated with prior use of the TD is mined for relevant information. Relevant information may include, for example, a primary phone number associated with other contact data. Relevant information is then used to populate the local SLS database. The local SLS database is then updated with a relationship number(s) in association with the relevant information. The relationship number enables the SLS application to direct a telecommunication to the primary number via a remote SLS platform.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A method for populating a dedicated database for use in conjunction with a telecommunications device (“TD”), wherein the dedicated database is for use by a particular application residing in the telecommunications device, the method comprising:
 utilizing the TD, accessing the particular application from an online application store;
 downloading the particular application from the online application store;
 installing the particular application;
 upon launching of the particular application for the first time, an autoloader application embedded in the TD and independent from the particular application searching the TD for a plurality of data sources within the TD, where each of the plurality of data sources is associated with one or more mobile applications loaded into the TD;
 identifying pertinent information in one or more of the plurality of data sources, wherein the pertinent information is information that is utilized during the operation of the particular application and that is normally required to be entered by a user manually; and
 populating the dedicated database with the pertinent information, whereby the particular application can operate seamlessly with the dedicated database as though it was generated manually by the user.

         2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the plurality of data sources comprises a contact list.

         3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the plurality of data sources comprises a favorites list.

         4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the plurality of data sources is associated with a short messaging service and is stored in a memory element of the TD.

         5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the plurality of data sources is associated with a third party service.

         6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the third party service is a social media service.

         7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the particular application is a mapping application and the pertinent data comprises a geographical address.

         8 . A method for populating a local second line service (“SLS”) database in a telecommunications device (“TD”), wherein the local SLS database is for use by an SLS application, the method comprising:
 mining a data associated with a user of the TD, wherein the data source comprises historical data that is associated with prior use of the TD;
 identifying relevant information in the data source, wherein the relevant information comprises a primary phone number associated with contact data;
 populating the local SLS database with the relevant information; and
 updating the local SLS database with a relationship number in association with the relevant information, wherein the relationship number enables the SLS application to direct a telecommunication to the primary number via a remote SLS platform.

         9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the data source comprises a contact list.

         10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the data source comprises a favorites list.

         11 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the data source is associated with a short messaging service.

         12 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the data source is associated with a third party service.

         13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the third party service is a social media service.

         14 . A system for populating a local second line service (“SLS”) database in a telecommunications device (“TD”), wherein the local SLS database is for use by an SLS application, the method comprising:
 an auto-load module configured to:
 mine historical data stored in a memory element of the TD, wherein the historical data is associated with prior use of the TD;
 identify relevant information in the historical data, wherein the relevant information comprises a primary phone number associated with contact data; and
 populate the local SLS database with the relevant information; and

 an SLS module configured to:
 update the local SLS database with a relationship number in association with the relevant information, wherein the relationship number enables the SLS application to direct a telecommunication to the primary number via a remote SLS platform.

         15 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the historical data comprises a contact list.

         16 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the historical data comprises a favorites list.

         17 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the historical data is associated with a short messaging service.

         18 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the historical data is associated with a third party service.

         19 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the third party service is a social media service.

         20 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the SLS module is further configured to communicate with the SLS platform via a session initiated protocol (“SIP”) to acquire the relationship number.
