Abstract

A personalized acute care treatment kit is provided that includes components necessary for a lay caregiver to treat an acute cardiac event. The kit includes a medication box provided with medications selected according to the needs of the owner, a CPR device, a pacemaker, a defibrillator, monitoring and diagnostic devices and a computing device. The computing device is provided with a mobile application that captures patient data from the devices in the kit and automatically sends an alarm to a treatment professional when the patient data exceeds a predetermined threshold and establishes a communication link to with the treatment professional to allow the treatment professional to instruct the lay caregiver in using the contents of the kit to provide acute care.

. The kit of claim 1 wherein at least one of said plurality of sensors is a wireless sensor.

. The kit of claim 1 wherein upon generation of the alarm signal, said computing and communication device automatically establishes a communication link with one or more of the alarm signal recipients.

. The kit of claim 1 wherein said computing and communication device includes voice activated audio resuscitation instructions to guide a lay caregiver in resuscitating the patient.

- 6 . (canceled)

. The kit of claim 1 wherein the mobile application is configured to provide continuous patient monitoring and communication by one of a lay person and a clinical professional.

. The kit of claim 1 wherein the alarm signal includes a message including the specific location of the patient and an indication that the patient needs immediate attention.

. The kit of claim 1 wherein said computing and communication device transmits the received cardiovascular data to a remote database server, compares the cardiovascular data to stored cardiovascular data for the patient and notifies a physician upon detection of changes to the cardiovascular data.

. The cardiovascular monitoring and treatment kit of claim 1 wherein at least one of said hospital grade diagnostic devices is capable of wireless connection.

. The cardiovascular monitoring and treatment kit of claim 1 further wherein said medication sub-container includes a plurality of compartments storing medications, including but limited to hospital grade medications.

. The cardiovascular monitoring and treatment kit of claim 11 wherein the medication includes one or more of medications for resuscitation, acute heart attack, acute stroke, acute bleeding, high and low blood pressure, Bradycardia, Tachycardia, arrythmias, poison antidotes, and allergies resulting from anaphylaxis shock.

. The cardiovascular monitoring and treatment kit of claim 12 wherein said computing and communication device tracks and stores expiration dates for the one or more medications.

. The cardiovascular monitoring and treatment kit of claim 1 further comprising a CPR device capable of wireless data transmission disposed in said portable container.

. The cardiovascular monitoring and treatment kit of claim 14 wherein said computing and communication device receives data from at least one of said CPR device, said automatic external defibrillator and said one or more hospital grade diagnostic devices.

. A cardiovascular and pulmonary monitoring and treatment kit for a lay caregiver to care for a patient anytime, anywhere for a potential life-time of preventive and proactive care in complex medical conditions comprising:
a portable container with one or more devices, the one or more devices being one of hospital grade diagnostic and monitoring devices for complex cardiovascular or pulmonary events, the one or more devices being capable of wireless data transmission with at least one of (i) one or more invasive subcutaneously embedded sensors including at least an invasive 12-lead ECG, and (ii) one or more surface diagnostic hospital grade devices including at least a non-invasive 12-lead ECG may be coupled with definitive and immediate diagnostic data parameters during complex or life-threatening event; a computing and communication device disposed within said portable container, said computing and communication device including a mobile application that receives cardiovascular data transmitted by one or more sensors that are non-invasively coupled to the patient or invasively subcutaneously embedded in the patient and generates an alarm when one or more cardiovascular parameters exceeds a predetermined threshold thereby indicating a cardiovascular event and transmits the alarm signal to preselected recipients and establishes a communication link with one or more designated recipients providing instructions to the one or more recipients indicating how to provide patient treatment corresponding to the alarm signal.
